Hi everyone, While building a timetable once in a blue moon I find a service failing to continue at a 'couple to' instruction with the following log output: LogTSWAI: TS2AIController::LogTargetConditionStatus: [TOD] +12:54:58.350, [TargetSpeedCondition] Stop Manual Couple, [Service] P_S_94478, [Location] Lat: 49.98381, Lon: 9.15996, [CurrentVelocity] 0.00m/s, [OtherRailVehicle] RVM_LFR_DB_Tadgs_959_C_20, [OtherFormation] P RP85283_Uncpl4 I did play this service in editor first and everything worked flawless while doing it manually. It is only if the AI runs the service (thus also while simulating) that the couple instruction fails. I didn't find a solid solution for this yet and was wondering if anyone else has experienced this bug and how they fixed it. For now I'm relocating the couple location. Sometimes this works, sometimes it doesn't. For reference: I am trying to couple a DB BR 204 to a mixed formation of Tadgs and Sggmrss wagons, but have experienced this bugs with other formations too, with both freight and passenger formations. Simulating my +1200 services timetable takes more than 2 hours by now, so I hope to find a more solid solution that allows me to keep developing without having to resimulate for every single couple instruction. Thank you very much!
Normally if ai can't couple to the formation it's cause somewhere their doesn't match. Might be coupler or jumper cables. Might be the wagons have to flipped certain way. Could be if its a modded vehicle Might be that whoever setup the rvv etc might have not put right groups for connection in.
I'll try to replace the Tadgs cars with something else and see how that works out. In the past I was able to fix this by relocating the couple location to another siding, but since this formation gets dropped off from quite a long train I don't have many options to do so. Thanks for your reply!
So when coupling the location on the node is irrelevant. This is because it uses the coupler location bepending which sides your coupling together.
I understand that, I am 100% sure I choose the correct couple side of both locomotive and car, but the couple process stops when the locomotive is firmly pushed against the car. The objective is however ticked off and the service continues when I manually finish the couple process. I'll let you know if replacing the affected car solves something.
Yeah so the objective is just looking for coupling. And you being human can do it even if things are 100% correct. AI however will make sure multiple stuff is correct before it attempts to couple and any of them not right will cause a AI to sit short of the formation and not couple. Double check your side being coupled from and too. You have the side for your formation and side for other formation. Also like I say if it's a vehicle where couple has been modded so it can couple to stuff it's not normally meant to check the coupler properties to see if maybe connection groups, jumper cables, coupler Id are wrong etc
Thanks for the further explanation. I have now replaced the Tadgs cars with Kijls cars and everything is working fine again. I guess there is some incompatibility between the DB BR 204 and the Tadgs cars. Thanks for the pointers!
Honestly amazing how we've had the Editor for several months now and are still discovering exciting new problems a timetable can have. I got a "Stop Coupler Setup" for the very first time today. No idea what that one is yet...
What type(s) of formations are you trying to connect? I have that one too at one BR642 couple instruction while PIE, but the coupling runs fine while simulating.
If I 'm not mistaken there is a coupling bug with them in game too, I don't think it's just the editor doing weird things. I'll look into the Maintalbahn thread to see the current status of that. Edit: it seems that bug was related to uncoupling. No mention of failures to couple there.
Yeah, you can only uncouple them by magic, but that's fine. The AI can do it, and the player can use the Automatic Coupling assistance feature. Coupling works fine for me, except on one single instruction in my timetable...
