Good evening! Experienced player with a few issues this evening I haven’t seen before. At the time of writing, I’ve been playing on the Series X for only about 20 minutes tonight and already experienced some quirky behaviour. First of all, I was greeted by Edinburgh to Glasgow showing in my route selection screen, which I do not own. Now this is interesting, as when DLCs were gradually being made available for TSW5 right at the game launch, I was shown to own Edinburgh to Glasgow, so of course I thought I’d install it to see if the license in-game also thought I owned it. Sure enough, it worked and I was even able to play a service before the license dropped out again the following day. Presumably I was offered the wrong DLC at the time of install, swapped with something else. All this to say, the DLC remained installed (because I simply didn’t go back to uninstall it from games / apps and until today, I’d forgotten about it as it hadn’t appeared in the game since. So imagine my surprise then when today, it’s back, but in a non-functional state. https://www.xbox.com/play/media/xe9JqXW95F I think what’s happening here is that the game is correctly not letting me play the content, because I don’t own the license for it, but it did (just this once) wrongly appear on the route selection screen. As the video shows, I got into some sort of world, but this was after the mini route map from which I chose where to spawn was blank. I couldn’t escape from this, and the menu music was still playing as if it hadn’t loaded yet, so I had to restart the game. The route is now not appearing in the route selection screen. Anyway, second issue came when I did get into a session and tried to exit photo mode. Free roam on LFR and I was met with a photo mode-ish state once I returned to play. Couldn’t interact with anything until heading into the pause menu and back out again. https://www.xbox.com/play/media/kHAehae9y4 Both of these UI-ish / core-ish bugs are just a little too weird for me to not flag, and it’s not a way I’ve seen the game behave before, given it’s likely not a route-specific issue. Support tickets raised for both issues. Haven’t been able to recreate either of these since, with the route selection screen and photo mode working as intended. But I would love to know if others have experienced either of these on the Series X, particularly the phantom route? And if so, was it Edinburgh to Glasgow! Thanks all
I would file a support ticket and provide all the info you have, that blue neverland sky I have not seen since TSW3, the early days of. Also, how did you get the video link on the XB site? I can't seem to find mine. ¯\(°_o)/¯
Yeah super strange, especially given the menu music was still playing, but I knew there was no chance of it loading in. I would be miffed if I owned the route, but me trying to run it out of curiosity and getting this weird outcome is beside the point, the issue is that the route should never have been available to select in the first place. Either way, I already raised the support tickets for both issues when I made the post. And the Xbox link is super handy, one of the better features they’ve put out there, and it’s something you can get to from the Xbox app as in the screenshot attached.
I know what you mean, that happened on the Arosalinie, GE 4/4 II, I actually forgot about this one and is one of my first badly made videos. Thank you for the info, I have used the App for a long time, and with the changes XB has made, I was looking for a hidden link on the website.
