Hello all, TrainGeek08 here and today I am suggesting the Styal Line and part of the West Coast Main Line between Manchester Piccadilly and Crewe with the WCML going via Stockport and the Styal Line going via Manchester Airport

    Price:
    GBP: 29.99
    EUR: 34.99
    USD: 39.99

    Route Map:

    Trains included in base route:

The British Rail Class 319 in Northern livery

The British Rail Class 390 'Pendolino' in Avanti West Coast livery (with 390119 and 390121's special liveries included ;), substitution would work like 395012 and 395025 on SEHS)

    Training (In Training Center):
    Class 319 Introduction
    Class 390 Introduction

    Scenarios:
Driving with Guarding: (Difficulty - 1)
Drive a Class 319 between Crewe and Wilmslow and guard another back to Crewe

Our Climate Hero: (Difficulty - 3)
Drive 390121 from Manchester Piccadilly to Crewe via Stockport during a torrential storm so be careful out there...

Piccadilly and Back: (Difficulty - 2)
Drive a Class 319 from Manchester Airport to Manchester Piccadilly via the Styal Line with inbound tourists and come back with more tourists heading towards the Airport

Ride with Pride: (Difficulty - 2)
Wembley Depot have been a bit polite and have allocated a special unit today so drive it into Piccadilly from Crewe but you are getting diverted onto the busier Styal Line today due to engineering works on the normal advertised route

ECS into Longsight: (Difficulty - 1)
Pick between a waiting 319 or a waiting 390 and drive either unit into Longsight Depot for the night after two different days of being out on their respective networks

    Timetable:
Here is a link to the Network Rail Working Timetable in May 2019 (as timings were better and more frequent pre-2020 than now)
(This line is in sections CM01, CM02 and parts of CM03 if you are interested in the service pattern)

The British Rail Class 175 'Coradia 1000' in Transport for Wales livery

    Training (In Training Center):
    Class 175 Introduction

    Scenarios:
    Airport Coradia: (Difficulty - 1)
Drive this Class 175 from Manchester Piccadilly to Manchester Airport having originated in Llandudno

Welsh Marches Express: (Difficulty - 2)
Drive this TfW service to Crewe bound for the Welsh Marches to get this far and the weather might get a bit misty...

    Into Service: (Difficulty - 1)
Set this TfW service up at Crewe Depot and run it empty to Manchester for the first Welsh Marches service of the day

    Layers:
Same as MGP (Glossop Line) plus the Class 323 from that route (can you disable the BCC variant from substituting in as well for realism)

Manchester Piccadilly is the principal railway station in Manchester, England. Opened as Store Street in 1842, it was renamed Manchester London Road in 1847 and became Manchester Piccadilly in 1960. Located to the south-east of Manchester city centre, it hosts long-distance intercity and cross-country services to national destinations including London, Birmingham, Nottingham, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Cardiff, Bristol, Exeter, Plymouth, Reading, Southampton and Bournemouth; regional services to destinations in Northern England including Liverpool, Leeds, Sheffield, Newcastle and York; and local commuter services around Greater Manchester. It is one of 19 major stations managed by Network Rail. The station has 14 platforms: 12 terminal and two through platforms (numbers 13 and 14). Piccadilly is also a major interchange with the Metrolink light rail system with two tram platforms in its undercroft.

    Manchester Airport:

Manchester Airport station is a railway, tram, bus and coach station at Manchester Airport, England which opened at the same time as the second air terminal in 1993. The station is 9+3⁄4 miles (15.7 km) south of Manchester Piccadilly, at the end of a short branch from the Styal Line via a triangular junction between Heald Green and Styal stations. Manchester Metrolink tram services were extended to the airport in 2014 and operate to Manchester Victoria.

    Stockport:

Wilmslow railway station is in Wilmslow, Cheshire, England, 12 miles (19 km) south of Manchester Piccadilly on the Crewe to Manchester Line. This station is a junction on the Crewe–Manchester line 6 miles (9.7 km) south of Stockport with the Styal line from Wilmslow to Manchester Airport, with some trains then continuing to Manchester. The station has four platforms with disabled access to each, two waiting rooms, public toilets and also has a double-staffed booking office below the platforms.

    Crewe:

Crewe railway station is a railway station in Crewe, Cheshire, England. It opened in 1837 and is one of the most historically significant railway stations in the world. Crewe station is a major junction on the West Coast Main Line and serves as a rail gateway for North West England. It is 158 miles north of London Euston and 243 miles south of Glasgow Central. It is located at the point where the lines to Manchester Piccadilly and North Wales diverge from this route, and is the last major station before the branch to Liverpool Lime Street diverges. It is also served by lines to Stoke-on-Trent and Shrewsbury. Crewe railway station has twelve platforms and a modern passenger entrance containing a bookshop and ticket office. Passengers access the platforms via a footbridge, stairs and lifts. The platform buildings dating from the 19th century contain two bookshops, bars, buffets and waiting rooms. The last major expenditure on the station took place between 1984-1985 when the track layout was remodelled and station facilities updated.

As per usual, brilliant suggestion. This is probably my favourite suggestion throughout the whole week, love the stock included and the route itself is really good. Like I say, the class 390 would be a treat to have in game so it can fill up so many empty stations! And a lovely train in general. I have not seen a class 319 suggestion in a while as well but I feel like they need recognition as they would be a great addition. But well done on this suggestion, just fantastic. :)

Thanks, glad you enjoyed this one, I was going to suggest a 331 but thought against it so I replaced it with something better and I quite like the idea of a 319, plus it could layer onto Glossop as AI as well so it's a win win :)

the WCML isn't really my cup of tea but the suggestion itself is brilliant and although I probably wouldn't buy it as I loathe the 390s and the 319s don't make up for that you have sold it well. I would take it in the 90s intercity days for sure though!

Would love this route. I ride up on a 175 several times a year for work, and would love to see it in game.

Fair enough mate, the 1990s would be great though for an alternative era but this modern era is alright too (for me personally) :)

Oh nice, the 175 would come as a potential DLC option and I totally agree about seeing it in game :)

Would be nice if we were to also have a London - Crewe route, but I believe we require a slightly remodeled Crewe station from the spirit of steam?

London-Crewe is a bit too long for a TSW route for now, maybe in the future though?

Yes, Crewe would be remodelled to current day standards ;)

I would just love to see this route in TSW4 having lived along the Stockport loop during three decade 50-70s. If it was made professionally for the game, I wouldn’t be bothered with the period but anytime in the 50s to 70s would be absolutely wonderful.

Looks like we got another British airport railway station this time for Manchester ringway in addition to Tesside Airport TVL LGW BML. In the future this should merge with Woodhead line Manchester Piccadilly to Glossop and Hadfield becoming the Manchester commuter rail Network Manchester Piccadilly to Glossop and Crewe

That would be a fantastic merge or even extension (SEHS-esque) for Glossop :)
