This may have been suggested before, but I would like to see an option when selecting a run from the Timetable to substitute in a train of the player’s choice at the setup stage. For example, selecting a Class 86 hauled run on WCML Over Shap, I could choose a Class 31 or Class 40 hauled consist or even go modern with a 390. Obviously the caveat would be this is a one trip only as the resources might not work with any next workings at the other end, although if the train exits to a portal then would be fine. SimRail offers this feature when starting a scenario with a pull down menu as you run through the start up options. So if you want to substitute an EU07 with the new CD 163 (Buzz Lightyear), or be really outrageous and put in the 110 km/h EN57 vice the Pendolino, you can. I see this as a possible alternative to the very limited current Scenario Editor and the even less satisfactory spawning in a train in Free Roam where you can’t specify stops or earn any AP.
