Since the announcement of Stuttgart - Heilbronn by DTG I have been asking myself about why they chose precisely that route, since I'm local to it and I think Heilbronn is a really odd end point. Unless there is something hiding in the route map, this is approximately what you'll get: Included with the route RE and RB services between Stuttgart and Heilbronn, more or less every 60 minutes, service takes about 45 minutes at most Freight between Kornwestheim and Bietigheim-Bissingen (only 12 km long) as this is where the mainline branches off and a few to Heilbronn (just shy of 30 km long) Subject to owning additional content S5 S-Bahn services between Stuttgart and Bietigheim-Bissingen, taking a bit less than 30 minutes, running every 30 minutes S4 S-Bahn services between Stuttgart and Marbach, cut at Ludwigsburg, every 30 minutes, taking about 15 minutes S6 S-Bahn services between Stuttgart and Zuffenhausen (provided they model the high rise platform there) every 30 minutes, taking no more than 10 minutes All S-Bahn services probably require the TSG 420 since the network had very few 423s in 2000 and you would easily see more 423s running around than existed at that point Interregio and Intercity services: Most as AI between Stuttgart and Kornwestheim where they go on the high speed line Few between Stuttgart and Bietigheim-Bissingen with even fewer stopping at Ludwigsburg, all others are nonstop (24 km long) A very small number of trains between Stuttgart and Heilbronn with varying stopping patterns These should run with the BR 103, BR 101 and BR 218 (these are the Stuttgart - Heilbronn ones) with some kind of Intercity coaches (the correct ones don't exist or need mods) and we are talking about around a dozen trains per direction at most Shunting at Kornwestheim and Stuttgart main station, probably using the 363, 294 and whatever else comes in and out of the stabling area in Stuttgart On a side note: There was one train pair in the second half of 2000 called the EXPO train which would go from Stuttgart to Heilbronn with a few stops in between pulled by a 101 but with some slower wagons (idk which exactly). Not a lot by any measure, but it's fair to mention it, should it be added. Especially for the vanilla version without layers, this seems very, very light on the gameplay side. Even with all layers, I would be surprised if the number of revenue service runs exceeds 200 services. Here is my suggestion to fix this: Swallow the frog and include a traffic-red 423 for the S-Bahn so at least it's available. A re-skin of the S-Bahn Frankfurt version is totally sufficient, it's not hard to do at all. Make a layer so once you own the 420, it replaces 90% or so of services. Extend the S-Bahn tunnel to Schwabstraße. Yes, I know you don't like making tunnels, but it adds short runs for all three lines not included yet, and it has a turning loop which is somewhat unique. Also, it's only two kilometres. That's really not a lot. Especially if the route itself is so short Extend the line from Ludwigsburg to Marbach. It's exactly 10 km of additional length, adds a somewhat spectacular Neckar crossing bride just before Marbach and completes the S4 line (on a side note, it would also add a single peak hour RE service between Ludwigsburg and Backnang, cut at Marbach). Also not that long, considering the route length. As far as I know, S4 and S5 services do and did interline, i.e. at Schwabstraße, an arriving S4 train becomes an outgoing S5 train to Bietigheim and vice versa. This would add a longer service to the otherwise still quite short route (only about 70 km in total) and it would embrace a network effect. Ah, and please, if you're gonna use the Dostos: Use older generations for the cab car and high floor Dostos. I haven't seen a low floor Dosto only consist in 20 years of regular usage of lines around Stuttgart.
