Although we have only just begun to see the Rush Hour content with the release of Boston-Providence and all of the issues associated with this and the Core Update, I would like to suggest the following as the next major project, possibly for next year. My suggestion is the idea of figuring out how to extend and connect routes for extra playability. A few suggestions for extensions/connections to release are... 1. Chatham Mainline from London Victoria to Strood plus Sheerness branch. 2. North Downs Line from Reading to Reigate/Gatwick Airport. 3. Branch Lines off of Brighton Mainline to... East Grinstead, Uckfield and Oxted Caterham and Tattenham Corner Tonbridge Littlehampton Ardingly Lewes Hove 4. Branch Lines off of GWE to... Greenford Brentford Colnbrook Windsor Bourne End/Marlow Henley on Thames Basingstoke I am sure that there are several other options for joining up/extending current routes both in the UK and other featured countries.
How about North Downs Line getting the priority because it links GWML Paddington to Reading with BML via Guildford. The new train is the class 769 electro-diesel 750v DC Top Contact 25kv 50 hz and diesel engine. Class 769 can layer onto GWE by alternating with Class 166 in return GWML gives NDL Class 166 as layer. By the way, NDL is an abbreviation of North Downs Line if Built
Those suggestions would be nice. Out of all of them I would want the Gwe branches to come first as they add so much gameplay and we have had a lot of southern content recently
This has to be one of my favourite routes. The recently introduced Class 769 tri mode units are interesting and were rebuilt from Thameslink Class 319 dual voltage emus dating back to 1987. A few interesting things to spot along the line are... Guildford cathedral Boxhill Jessies seat memorial topiary
4. Branch Lines off of GWE to... Greenford - 2½ mile shuttle, 4 stations from West Ealing Brentford - No passenger service between paddington and this station Colnbrook - freight only Windsor - 2¾ miles, one station shuttle from Slough Bourne End/Marlow - 7 miles, 4 stations from Maidenhead Henley on Thames - 4½ miles, 3 stations from Twyford Basingstoke - 15.33 miles, 5 stations from Reading So for the 5 active passenger shuttles - 32 miles, 17 stations, all served by 2 car 166s, all end to end. Would people be willing to pay £25 for that?
Hence my suggestion to include the freight branches to Brentford and Colnbrook and perhaps the Class 60 locomotive to add something more for freight work and the Class 165/1 units as well as there are a few differences between them and Class 166 units. Brentford has only the Waste Terminal today as the passenger stops have long ceased to be used and the line now proceeds no further than the A4 trunk road in much the same way as the Colnbrook branch no longer serves Staines West (or Uxbridge in the other direction).
The Colnbrook line seems to only run trains as far as Acton on this route. I can't find any scheduled services which run from Brentford via the GWML (using RTT for the last week)
Brentford only gets a couple of bin liner trains a week heading towards Reading and Colnbrook gets oil trains for Heathrow. By including both branches, it might be possible to lay the groundwork for a pair of vintage routes with Brentford once reaching the Dock just beyond the town and the Colnbrook line once reaching Staines West to the South and Uxbridge Vine Street to the North. These vintage routes could include the line beyond Bourne End to High Wycombe and the former large stations at Windsor Central, Marlow and Henley on Thames but these classic lines are for another thread.
That they are. These smaller branches are either going to be strictly AI or if ever DTG do extensions (which they've said they wont) as a bridge between two packs (such as GWE to a West London pack)
