Hi everyone, I have a suggestion about the formation designer. My idea is if it is possible to have the formation designer also in the Timetable services. Before you play a Timetable service, you have to choose which train you want to drive. So what if you can also choose the train you have created in Formation Designer to play a service in the Timetable? Of course it will have it's limits when it comes to the lenght of the platforms of each station. That would be a wonderful idea for future development of Formation Designer if all issues are being fixed before you can use it in the Timetable services. If Matt, Alex or anyone else within the DTG team could take note of this, than other players would be happy when it's possible to use formation designer in the Timetable services!
It would be near impossible due to timings for example it would be impossible to keep time with a crompton on a pad-reading train
Fully agree with the request. And of course the caveat is that timings may not be achievable anymore, but that can easily be caveated, it's more about empowering the user in choosing the train he/she wants to drive. It's been acknowledged a while back. https://forums.dovetailgames.com/th...-be-used-in-timetable-mode.78456/#post-793598
Can’t you choose a train in timetable mode to drive and spawn a compatible train behind you. Then couple to it.
You can spawn make up your own trains in timetable mode ,just spawn on foot and make sure no trains lined ,then just immediately spawn a locomotive build your train then set a path the AI will route stuff around you ..I tried this on HSC horseshoe curve route US and Semmingtabahn , Fife Circle and it worked for me im on series X
Here are a couple things ive run in timetable . On Semmingtabahn ispawned on foot created a US freight train using the BNSF CJP ES44c4 s and a 40 car freight started on more level track and set a path to run over the steepest grades 2 to 3 percent to see how i did going uphill and down it was fun want to try even longer US freight s , On HSC horseshoe route US i made a custom freight and ran Johnstown pa to Altoona in timetable with the AI traffic was also fun
