Liveries Support For Dtg. Kind Messages.

Hello folks.

It’s that time of year when all good will goes out to all good men.
My goal is to bring us together and would like us all to get into the Christmas spirit and share some kind messages of support for what DTG and the teams there have done and continue to do.

Speaking from my own experience I feel we have all had our ups and downs with DTG but today is not about that nor should it be.

The reason for saying this and not for work just from DTG but other members on here that I haven’t paid attention too or supported.

During this time I have looked at many members work including all the guys that do mods.
The work that goes on his truly breath taking it really is. The work you guys put is is unbelievable.

So I would like to take this opportunity to show my appreciation not only to DTG for all there hard work but also give you the community the chance to send your own personal message of appreciation or thanks towards what DTG has done,,,old and new. Even messages maybe from the very earlier days of the 2000’s.

Then maybe I’ll pick a few messages for my latest project,,,so if you want to jump on board this little side project and show your appreciation of others or DTG then please comment here.

As I say I will be looking for a simple kind messages of support as this will be placed on the livery.
With your permission I’ll also include your community user name as the livery may be shown publicly at some point.
If chosen then I will double check with that user first just for clarification. I will not use anything without consent from the chosen user/s.

I would also like to mention due to the time frame involved then I will be leaving this open until Thursday 14th December with closing time of 18:00 GMT. I currently don’t have a set number of places but I will be picking as the week goes on for these to be applied in time for release hence the closing date and time. Ideally I’d like this work to be done in a timely manner due to other considerations

So if your happy for me to do this then please start writing your kind messages of support today.

As I say I want to show my appreciation and support for DTG and also include you guys too so we all can just have some fun. Bring us together to share our kind thoughts and support for DTG and each other.

I feel this is a great way for us all to come together and do this.

Hello folks just a quick one.
This post is just ref to the amendment of date and time. Reason for this is due to allow more messages to slowly trickle in but leave me with enough time to complete.

As of the two messages I’ve done each is tailored so does take some time.
I also understand that this project and what’s going on behind it all hasn’t really allowed the community time to react in time.
So I will be leaving this offer of your kind message of support to be on this livery and involved in the project now it’s been officially announced today.

WITH A NEW CLOSING DATE. 13:00hr Friday the 15th of December.
Please don’t feel I am pushing this but again the only reason is due to time and also allow it to be enjoyed over this weekend or give those lads looking for that winter vide or a cool funky scenario I know your all dying to do.

So again an opportunity for you to have you user name on a cool one off livery on your own winter themed scenario.

Come on just think about that for a sec. Take the opportunity when it’s there…I did.

Lets get together and show support for DTG and each other. You just never know who may need the company this time of year.

Hi Folks I just wanted to give a quick post and say a massive thank you too all that for involved last night on here and on something similar with other topics threads with kind messages for DTG.

I just wanted to say thank you, it was all a bit of a giggle,,and fully enjoyed it. Shame I was busy as I did want to get involved with you a little more and for me to start appreciating what you guys do.

I’ve been checking out work that some of you have done in the mods department an yes I’ve mentioned a slight dislike to Mods but that’s if it’s done for glory by misleading users not on here but by other media out let’s. As I sure this someone is and it’s not fare,,,I’ve tried to probe for the correct information from him but obviously hides due to admitting it’s mods and not by hand. Could be me getting the wrong end of the stick tho but why not answers. Anyhow,,,,

So getting back the point I have seen what you guys do in the Mods department,,,and tbh my work is insignificant to what goes in this area of work,,,I am truly taken back and I feel just from my point of view it seems they are very talented in deed but don’t get the recognition they so rightly deserve.

As for someone that spends a lot of time doing what I do, then again with mods and scenarios from whom them selfs have a passion for creating I can fully appreciate the hard work and dedication you guys do.

A lot of you got involved yesterday and supported my work I just feel I should do the same for those that share the same passion in all things trains in a creative sense.
This I will make a conscious effort to do.

Last night shown me there really is some fine fellas on here and some kids at heart too.
It really was a joy.

So thank to you everyone.

Hi folks.

Just a quick update as the livery is at a crucial point and some what dragging,,which may result I a days delay.
The reasons for this messages is the ones that so kindly came forward now have there messages completed bar one it’s a little tricky.
Now I still have space so could still leave this randomly open as I work on other things to fill the gaps.
The only reason for holding back is I would like a few more messages but I don’t have the time to waste on filling the gaps with things and then un doing them so as I say it’s a bit a balancing act.

And to DTG this has now slight swayed away from my main direction with getting the wider community involved.
So what I would like to say is this. The offer is open for all and would be nice to see some comments from the teams at DTG as you too are community members.

This is for you TEAM DTG so it would be nice if you wanted to drop a message for your fans and us here on the community.
We all can share our love over this festive season and as always and on strict instructions to HAVE FUN.

As a good boy I’ll always do what my gaffer tells me so come on get on board DTG and join us all.

Hi again folks.

Well unfortunately there has been set back until tomorrow I won’t give a time as this will only add to confusion.
But I will endeavour to get out as soon as possible.

I am sure you can appreciate with a livery like this and running of the project can be timely and a lot of mistakes can occur.
I don’t want this to happen and as much as I want this out soon I also want it to be as good as it can be for DTG and those members of the community that have kindly allowed me to add them. (Again Thanks Chaps). A mass up of letter,,,messing with sizes for the most effective display.

So hope you can appreciate this and it unfortunate that I feel I didn’t hit a project dead line I set myself and for the you guys.
But I also won’t break a fundamental rule of rushing a project. The old way.

Like Isambard Kingdom Brunel,,,if you want it done right and for it to last then it must be done right regardless of cost.
It’s how boys become men for where a country shows its strength. To build a proud nation.

I wish to make those proud that have put faith in me and their trust and support.

I won’t let you down Men. Now where is my Shovel and Nipper?.

Hi folks.

Well this thread will be dead soon as the Project has been completed and the use of any messages of kind support for DTG have been applied to the now completed Class 395 014. Above:Unit TEAM DTG 39146. This is for all as a Team at Dovetail. With the Christmas theme added. An then last but not least we have Unit 39141 for Matt Himself,,.A livery designed for Matt on His 395 with His own brand and livery concept. Four core components of the design across the whole livery. I hope they approve. It is after all a bit of fun with some Christmas cheer thrown in over a quite serious design concept.

So again I would like to thank all that allowed this to happen and to all that allowed their kind messages to be placed on one such as this livery.
A Massive thanks goes to: Matt#4801, mgbgt, TrainGeek08, “Spikeyorks” and to all at DTG.

I send you all Christmas wishes and all the best for 2024. With the release of TSW4 then 2023 has been a great year.

Taking the time and effort to complete this project deserves some recognition so on behalf of the TSW community, thank you for taking all the time you needed to create this livery and for reaching out to members like me to help bring this creation to life

 

I second this It is not often that someone dedicates a large amount of time to actually put something back. You should be commended Lee for giving it a go and doing such a good job. Well done

Hi DTG_jan,,,what a surprise to hear such kind messages from a renowned member of the DTG Team.

I’m Glad you appreciate the work as I rescued it some what I feel at the last minute. The first time was in my opinion an absolute disgrace.
And I can see why you dreaded to ask how long it’s taken
So I will make it brief in this busy time. Its taken around a week to fully complete with the second standard edition also near completion.
A First look. Still under testing. I had very little time to plan as this TEAM DTG Project consists of more than one loco or unit and today will be the first mention of them being done just in time for Christmas. A week to think of a workable design for a livery for Matt,,mixed up with a TSW4 a TEAM DTG theme and to finish off a Christmas theme with some light hearted fun.
Admittedly there was a few draw back as I held back for messages so this set me back somewhat,,,because this was built in to the design so last minute had to think of ways of filling. Shame really as I wanted to have many messages spread across the white.

So to end completion I’d say this is a 3 week Project even possible running into the New Year.

Again I know time is short but I just want to mention this all came about from a upset from my end and yet the time given from a fantastic member of the DTG TEAM was remarkable to say the least.

I kind of came from under my rock and took note at what hard work DTG members have placed into many past projects and recent ones.
I also know there have been ups and downs say with the community or how the public perception is often harsh and un called for.

So why this Project came about as a show of appreciation from me and I wanted to get the community involved too,,so we can share our positive thoughts on what’s been achieved and also bring us the community and you TEAM DTG together over this festive season.

A way to have some fun,,,an Order by the way. Let our hair down a little and wind down after a very stressful year for some.
But at the same time is a serious livery for Matts own use lol for TEAM DTG and for all on CC to get on board and see that we all can have a laugh if we just put our differences to one side for once.

I’m gonna sound like Rocky when I say this but if I can change then we can all change. By that I mean I often been a open critic of faults etc but I’ve moved on and seen the positives for once.

For me it was an opportunity to move on and try start a fresh. And also see if we all could all do the same.

So please this is for you and for us all.
Share as you wish,,I’d appreciate that so much as the last time I looked I wasn’t doing well and I hope it has nothing to do with politics.

A real shame for as you point out there are many little details that often people over look or don’t appreciate like you could say people do about DTG work. It’s so disheartening sometimes to have it all over looked.

But I suppose in this case it’s more about the fact I was able to make it in the first place than recognition,,for again I never knew I would be able to make it so I am eternally thankful to all that allowed this to happen.

And I am truly grateful for your time in adding a comment here.

So with that I’ll leave you be,,I can’t believe how close it is as times flown by.

Oh don’t your going to get me crying,,,,no way man I don’t know what to say.
Im thankful to you and to all as I’ve seen a few more messages of kindness.

As I know I’m a little hard to get on with maybe and have my ups and downs,,,it’s never my intention to be this way and as much as this was for TEAM DTG I didn’t want to be selfish and not share this opportunity for us to get together no matter what our circumstances or differences may be as I know am an outsider because I now nothing about trains silly as it sounds.
But I do love them and have taken over my life,,which for me who doesn’t get out much to try share my love or creating liveries I wanted us all to make one and share the Love in a way.

I also know I sometimes come across as completely of my head for my age and you could say I am but the kid has never left me and nor should it. We grew up and forget the child within that is somewhere still lost inside trying to break out.

I also believe in poking fun at oneself and not to take life too seriously something I don’t often portray in my work.

So I really am well,,,,dumbfounded,,,but I will say this as I have said it personally to a member on here.
It was never about me being the best or being ignorant of others work or talents,,,it was for once in my life doing something I love sharing with you and hopefully you all getting involved so I then was part of something for once in my life.

Because as always when ever I do get even a hint of any recognition I tend to shy away,,,because with nerves I completely fall apart.
I don’t want that to be the case here,,,because not only is it away to share my passion but also more importantly away to try learn with others because I’ve seen what some mods guys do and to be honest I’m well jealous not out of hate jealousy but I probably feel I’d never be able to accomplish what you guys do on PC’s etc. It is prober mind blowing stuff.

So yes I’m going of track but to all that’s responded with kind messages I am so thankful and hopeful we can all enjoy this,,,have a little chuckle and with a little piece of History to back on and remember.

I am quite a philosophical person so it’s not just about the livery but also that at one point I well fell out with DTG couldn’t stand them and yet looking back things happen for a reason,,Ill health etc. I’ve changed so hope all this may have happened for a reason to and maybe those involved can look back and say it was time in the own life’s that something changed.

To Embrace all no matter how strange or our indifferent they may seem.
As for me out side is now full of hate,,,and I don’t understand why. Race, Religion,,Members of Society all fighting.

This is my own little corner my escape from it all,,,because as a grown man,,,I am still a big kid.
So just want to get away from it all,,and hopefully by us working as a community we can be just more than that.
Have fun like big kids and escape the hostile world of adulthood lol.

We can do better for more than just one. If one has the will and passion to do so.

I hope we can all look back on all this with a sense of pride.

To all come together,,have a laugh and just chill out this season.
