It’s time the Pacific Surfliner came to TSW 6. We haven’t had a new Amtrak route since TSW 3, and U.S. passenger fans have been asking for years. The Surfliner is perfect — coastal scenery, busy commuter and intercity traffic, and iconic Amtrak equipment.

This route would be a chance to finally bring in the Siemens Chargers with proper high/low horns, Surfliner cab cars with accurate sounds, and even the much-requested P42. It would balance the East Coast-heavy content by giving us an equally iconic West Coast experience.

The community has been clear: we want more Amtrak. The Surfliner would show Dovetail is listening and ready to deliver.

Pacific Surfliner is a must-have route for me. The route should include some BNSF power (ET44C4, ES44AC/DC/C4, GP60/GP60M-3/GP60B, GP50, C44-9W, B40-8W, GP38-2, or GP39-2) for freight services and yard/local duties too. The PS SC44 Charger and/or Amtrak P42DC would be great to see. I like the Siemens Chargers. The route should be LA-San Diego. Also, maybe include Coaster in San Diego w/ their SC44 Chargers and commuter passenger cars. Possible DLC: PS F59PHI

its like dovetail is ignoring us and what we really want like we have been saying pacific Surfliner since TSW 4!!! and all its been is coaster would be a perfect addition but just need a licence from NCTD but that should not be hard. plus they have to plan a trip to LA SAN DIEGO and or SAN LUIS OBISBO and just san diego for coaster

As cool as this sounds, I don’t see this happening anytime soon since US freight is pretty much dead.

DTG (and other TSW Developers) need licenses from the company of the train/route for consent to use their brand in the route. Caltrans is petty about their license. They might do, but not just now. It’s like how GWR was petty with their license until they gave DTG another GWR License for riviera line.

LA to San Diego is a very nice run that I've taken quite a few times. But as far as TSW is concerned, you're talking about a major city at each end and nearly 130 miles of Southern California towns and scenery in between. No way can TSW handle the assets needed right now, and the development time would be considerable as well.

your right Caltrans is VERY petty about there License. i mean if dovetail just asked maybe they can consider giving it to dovetail.

also dovetail needs a USA Department

I still stand by that the Surfliner should only be done following an existing Metrolink line, either the northern Ventrura Line to
Ventura–East (70ish miles) or the southern Orange County Line (87+ miles) as those are more reasonable than a full route to LA and San Diego....
