Has the steam train suspension problem been sorted on tsw5?

Nope. They still bounce around as if they're on some sort of trampoline.

Are Dovetail aware of this problem?

Most likely. They won't do anything about it though.

Surely they’ll have to do something because at the moment the loco’s are undriveable

I've driven the Spirit of Steam locos (not the Flying Scotsman yet) and didn't notice anything different. Can someone tell me if those locos are also affected and if I just can't tell?

You can still drive it just fine aka it is not derailing you or crashing. It's not something they must do now. They have to focus on tsw5.

Focus on TSW5 still means sorting out problems that they simply imported into the next iterations. Why should they be free of fixing broken content just because they have a new game. If even, a new game should mean ironing out all the bugs before moving on....

Driving the Scotsman is just ridiculous. And turning off suspension physics isn't a fix for it at all.

Sadly I suspect fixes to steam traction are at the bottom of the list if not off the table altogether.

The top heavy side to side rocking of the Jubilee in particular was appalling even before the latest updates.

If you want to drive steam trains, probably best sticking to TSC or the residual content from MSTS in Open Rails.
