I got the BR 218 as a present two days ago and as I played around with it in some train yards, I discovered that it bounces when it goes over junctions - external and internal...Is the BR 218 supposed to have already suspension implemented? I didn´t hear something about that or have I missed something?
As far as i know everything new will now have the suspenison update so yes it is supposed to have it.
Onlyworks on the newer routes though (I.e. Maintalbahn), on Hamburg - Lübeck I only saw it work at one junction
Matt mentioned on the 380 thread that the 218 wasn't meant to launch with suspension, but had a tick box ticked so launched with the current development build of suspension. If nothing has changed since the last roadmap then the full launch of suspension is scheduled for mid to late July, the 380 which comes out this week won't have the new suspension until then.
Thats correct and the Suspension on the 218 isnt final.. the game needs in the core an update to let it work as intended. With the 218 you experience some incorrect behaviour
Suspension of trucks and axleboxes is more a gimmick in the external view, and one has to zoom in on the running gear. Proper dynamics of the player's 'virtual head' when the train goes over switches, bumps, grade crossings etc is way more important to get a full in-cab immersion. Obviously with added sound effects since points and flanged frogs, grade crossings all have their specific track sound.
Hope thie really is correct because as much as i love the TSG 218, the suspension feels off. And worst for me is that you have it on newer routes, but not on older ones like Hamburg-Lübeck. Without the option to toggle it off completely absence of course
