About Distance would be about 46.7 mi (75.15 km) (accounting for common track usage) New Guildford line The New Guildford line, presently operated by South Western Railway, is a commuter line between London Waterloo and Guildford. It branches off the South West Main Line at Hampton Court Junction, just south-west of Surbiton. On timetables, trains on this route are advertised as going to Guildford via Cobham. Rush hour services provide two (inbound) morning services and one (outbound) evening service non-stop between Surbiton and Waterloo. Off-peak services run twice per hour (once on Sundays) and are slower, stopping at all intermediate stations except between Surbiton and Wimbledon. Sutton and Mole Valley lines The Sutton and Mole Valley lines were constructed between 1847 and 1868 by the London, Brighton and South Coast Railway, the London and South Western Railway and the LBSCR-sponsored Horsham, Dorking and Leatherhead Railway. Services include commuter services in South London, Surrey and West Sussex operated by Southern, usually from London Victoria to Horsham via Sutton and Dorking. Some Southern services in peak hours from London Bridge call at West Croydon and diverge at Leatherhead and serve Effingham Junction and Guildford via the New Guildford Line. Rollingstock Class 377 (operates on Sutton and Mole Valley lines) Class 450 (operates on both lines) Class 455 (operates on both lines) Class 458 (operates on Sutton and Mole Valley lines) Class 700 (operates on Sutton and Mole Valley lines)
Would be nice to see the 450, and glad to see the 700 and 377 could layer on. Though the ECW 377 has no pantograph, so they'd need to update it slightly.
Great suggestion. Would make sense to include the Hampton Court branch with this as well - only two extra stations for another complete end-to-end line. I'd love to see the main line to Guildford via Woking included as well!
None of the routes suggested use AC. Also Southern dont go to Guildford. They use the SMVL for London Bridge + Victoria to Epsom, Sutton, Dorking and Horsham services. SWR use it for their Guildford and Dorking services.
It is ashame that no of these inscribe routes are going to feature anytime soon. The latest roadmap is a huge disappointment in my opinion.
I definately agree Im impressed with the 710 model, GOBLIN is a disappointment I know we knew it was coming but it being confirmed to just being A-B 13 miles was a let down. Fife circle and 170 was my highlight. However I am scared of hoe the 170 is going to sound Rivet dont really have the best track record.
I am excited for the Goblin Line but I would have preferred the North/ West London line. I am excited to use the 710's on the GWE route with an Elizabeth line livery.
