One feature that would be great if possible would be to be able to swap any train (power source permitting) with another but still keep the timetable active. For example. A service from Leicester to Lincoln on Midland Mainline. You could load the service using the 158 and then swap the 158 for the XC 170. I get it would break immersion, but it would be optional. I don't know how feasible it would be though
I don't know but this should have been part of free roam. A menu item could pop up if you targeted a time table AI train to ask do you want to substitute this train? and you got the spawn train menu to choose from. I mean having the option to run another train on a route or service for fun is an obvious addition to the possibility to spawn in a train and drive it. what is really the use of free roam if you can't run your spawned train on a scheduled service? Also to mix in other trains to watch on a route in time table mode would be great. as it is now setting a goal and maybe a via point and no passengers going on and off is booooring. But I use Free roam anyway to investigate all the little offshoots of track here and there. sometimes you can go quite far on them, and sometimes not. for instance, on WCML you can go to Kilburn Park station and it is modeled even on that route! but it is in darkness with no people.
yup! I fully second this and it seems a really obvious feature that should be included. Ie ive been wanting to substitute a Pacer into the Glossip line for ages.
Absolutely this. Something like GWE where I could swap the 802 in for the HST or vice versa on Riviera where I could sub in a proper full length HST for the Cucumber. Or WCMLoS where I could swap the 86 or 87 for a diesel loco for a bit of extra challenge, but still get the timetable completion.
