I wonder if anyone has managed to build a diamond crossing where each of the four approaches has two possible exits. I have seen a few on the Leeds Manchester route and now need a couple for Newcastle Central Station. There is a junction switch available which will hopefully move the points as required but I don't know how to even begin arranging the ribbons into this formation. .
The normal diamond crossing is just two straight lengths of track laid over each other in a shallow angle X. Then you change the mode to "Welding of Track Curves...etc" and when the red cursor turns yellow as you move it over the centre of the diamond, a click of left mouse magically sorts out the junction. I don't think that's how the crossing that I need is made, can't be sure about that though.
Yes, you just have to move the mouse over the center again and click to create the diamond crossing. If you have this: Move the mouse over it: Click, then you get this: But make sure to set the curve radius to something very small like 5. Otherwise it won't let you make the diamond crossing. And the tracks need to be perfectly straight.
Thanks for that I didn't realise it was so simple. Just tried it out and it all seems to work even using my favourite bog-standard BP_DE_Junction_2 automatic actuator.
