Feature request TSW2: When performing a scenario or time table service I would like to be able switch cabs or locos without being forced to give up said service. For example, "Oakville subdivision: Y913 Industrial Zone Switching." When I have to make the run from McAnulty to Hamilton Yard I cannot switch from the GP9 to the GP38 without ending the journey/service. Forcing me to run backwards. This makes the long trip to Hamilton very frustrating for me. This is one of several examples, this happens on other routes as well. Please make it so, at the very least, we can operate any loco attached the service we are operating. My dream would be the ability to operate any vacant loco in the scenario thus giving the option to add helpers to an underpowered train or anything we can imagine. Thank You for considering my request. P.S. I don't want to be told to switch cabs/locos, I want to choose if/when I switch based on my preference or convenience.
You‘ll never be able to switch trains in a scenario since they‘re handcrafted experiences that expect you to follow specific instructions. You can switch loco in your consist though. As for the other matter: Is this a journey mode problem? I never use journey and use timetable services instead and never had to give up a service if I switch loco/cab in my own consist as your OSD example describes.
I'm talking about locos in the same consist. If I enter the other loco in the consist an try to sit in the driver's seat I get a pop up message asking if I want to give up the service. Y913 is a timetable service in the Oakville Subdivision. Before posting this message I re-ran the service and was able to switch between the locos in the consist without penalty. The stupid pop up made me think I could not. Once in the Sand Patch route I switched locos and the whole train disappeared.
I was talking about scenarios in this part of my post. You will not get a pop up in a scenario. That‘s what I was trying to say. The pop up is misleading, you don‘t give up the service if you switch to another loco in your consist. That‘s - well - odd. You wouldn‘t happen to have a video of this, I guess? No train has ever disappeared for me apart from the ones driving into portals at the end of routes.
Sorry, no video. I don't have the luxury to stream, and I can't remember which service it was. I usually don't pay attention to names I just run one and move to the next.
