    Overview

The route starts in Sydney’s centre, at Central station, including the City Underground loop. The route then goes north over the Sydney Harbour Bridge, through the North Shore railway to get to Hornsby, where it runs further north to Berowra. From Central the route also travels west through the bustling Main Suburban railway to Strathfield, before also heading north along the Main North railway through Epping and finally also to Hornsby and Berowra. Just north of the Harbour bridge there are the tightest curves in all of NSW, required to ascend the north shore between North Sydney station and St Leonards stations. Major stations on the route, going clockwise, are Central, Redfearn, Strathfield, Epping, Hornsby, Berowra, Gordon, Lindfield, Chatswood, North Sydney, Wynyard, Town Hall and the City Underground stations of Circular Quay, St James and Museum.

A number of depots are located on the route, including Hornsby MC, Lavender Bay ECS, Eveleigh yard and Macdonaldtown yard.

The route is fully electrified at 1500V DC OHLE.

    Services

This route could see an unbelievable number of services, with Sydney Trains T1 services operating between Berowra and Strathfield via Gordon, running express between Redfearn and Strathfield, T2 services between the City Circle and Strathfield, T3 services around the City Circle and to Redfearn, T4 services (these may not feature, as they have their own underground platforms and are physically separated from other lines in this part of the route) between Town Hall and Redfearn, T7 services express from Central to Strathfield, T8 services around the City Circle and to Redfearn in peak times only, and T9 services from Gordon to Hornsby via Central. On top of this, the route sees many Intercity and Regional trains, which could include the Blue Mountains line between Central and Strathfield, running express, and the Central Coast and Newcastle line between Central, Strathfield and Berowra via both Epping and Gordon. With frequencies of more than 20tph in some sections, this gives this route a potential service count of over 2100 driveable services, by far the most of any route.

On top of this, if a freight loco was included as a DLC, it could add an extra 10-20 services daily from freight trains using the third track between Strathfield and Normanhurst and north to Berowra.

    Rolling Stock
Due to their immense similarity, I believe the Sydney Trains A and B sets 'Waratah' could be included to run suburban services, as well as the NSW Trainlink H set 'OSCar' to run intercity services. Both are double-deck EMUs.
The A and B sets both have 8 cars per unit, with a top speed of 130km/h.
The H set has 4 cars per unit, but is often running in double to make an 8 car train. They also have a top speed of 130km/h.

    Excellently considered and detailed proposal!
I am a bit confused though; Are you suggesting the T1 North Shore & Western Line? Because that line doesn't use the City Circle route with Museum and Circular Quay stations, but rather the direct route through the CBD with Wynyard and Town Hall stations.

T1 is obviously the line that takes your from Sydney to Berowra though, so for now I've listed it in the master list of Australian proposals under "Sydney Trains, T1 North Shore & Western Line" found here:

I’m suggesting the T1 and T9, but also including services around the Circle on shorter runs, say Strathfield to Redfern through the Circle. Compare it to runs from Boston-Readville for example.
