So im very much not far along with this project as im still learning the editor, but i've always wanted my own welsh narrow gauge line for Train Sim World, and after visiting the railway last summer with a close friend and taking over 300+ reference pictures of the locomotives and stock i decided at last to give it ago and see how far i can get. So far the first draft of the track is in and gauged (Though the points frogs are a bit buggy). and the locos and rolling stock are models which i made earlier in the year for Transport Fever 2, which i've ported to unreal. I'll be sharing progress pictures as i develop more of the line, and no doubt i will have many questions and struggles as i go.
Now this and the GWR Pannier project are the coolest things to come out of the TSW editor. If DTG have even a lick of sense, they should be approaching you and featuring this on the community section of the roadmap. Can't wait to see how this all develops, great to see people making more steam locomotives for TSW
Thanks Everyone I finished laying the track tonight, the track still needs some work, my plan is to make changes as i landscape the line side. The editor spent most of its time crashing though. But now i have all the track laid i need to figure out getting talyllyn working so i can do a full run up the line.
Pendre Yard and Tywyn Wharf were particularly tricky thanks to the editor crashing alot and also getting the point work to fit into the space Pendre Yard Tywyn Wharf
This looks fantastic so far, well done, can't wait to see the progress on this, have always loved the TR and Welsh Narrow Gauge.
My only progress so far has been getting the map to be selectable ingame, like any other DLC I've created a new thread containing my teething troubles and the problems i had, so i can keep this thread for progress updates
If you'd like any assistance - I have general arrangements/drawings of most of the locomotives and stock, do drop me a PM - I like your No 1, but there are a few tweaks that would really, really crisp up the look of the model. Although a DTG employee now, I was Permanent Staff on the Talyllyn for many years - amongst other things I was a coach finisher/loco painter as well as working on the signalling side. Up until about 2010 I'd painted/lined/varnished every single engine on the TR at least once and worked on every carriage. I also sat on the Traffic and Operating Committee and Operating Documents Working Group for many years and wrote/revised/reissued the Rule Book, General Appendix and Train Signalling Regulations. More than happy to help - drop me a line if you want anything: happy to help with ANY Talyllyn-related query you might have got. I know when you come to do the signalling, there will be some changes, as I'm just designing a relocking of Abergynolwyn and I spent part of the weekend drawing out the circuits for a review.
Thanks that would be incredible, esspecially when it comes to the locos and stock, the one time i was there i took hundreds of photos of everything i could find, but unfortunatly No 5, No 4 and No 6 were out of service so i couldnt get as many shots as i'd have liked. If you have any advice on tweaks i could make to No 1. I'd love to hear them I originally built the model for Transport Fever 2 so the fine detail wasnt important but for TSW id like to get them as close as possible to their Real world counterparts
Awesome thank you, do you think you could maybe see if anyone you know might have the 2018 Anything Goes Gala Timetable? I think that might be the only time all the Steam and Diesel fleet was in service at the same time, I'd like to try and replicate the time table if possible as i think that would be a cool Time table to run. Also Progress !!! I managed to get passed the issue i was having, which prevented the route loading ingame turns out i was missing the a timetable, once that was fixed the whole thing started working like magic. Now i can get on to relaying the track at Tywyn warf and marking out buildings
Reworked the track in Tywyn Wharf and had a go with the folliage tool (limiting myself to foliage found in the trainin centre)
I have the original Special Traffic Notice on my machine - timetable and cover notes for the special notice - PM an email address and I will forward the two documents.
This looks really good i dovetail would work with you to bring it to console would you do that I’m aware that other licenses would be required probably for that just I would love a new steam route and if dovetail really needed another reason it could tie into the rev w ardry extravaganza events pre make a pack around it
I'd be open to the idea but im still along way off that point, i dont even have working engines to run on the line, thats a whole other learning process for me My end goal for this project is to re-run the 2018 Anything goes Gala as a playable timetable
