This railway is also in wales and runs from the seaside town up through a beautiful valley to Nant Gwernol. It runs along the side of a mountain as you get further up the valley as back in the Victorian era, it was being used for transporting slate and coal from the mines. Built in 1865, this little railway worked in the mining industry and then later on in years, became the first preserved railway. It is commonly known for it's engines being featured in the iconic childrens book, Thomas & Friends, written by reverend Wilbert Awdery who also volunteered on the railway.
