Tauernbahn for Train Sim World Introduction OBB Railjet service on the Falkensteinbrücke bridge The Tauernbahn route is an 80 km mountain railway in Austria, spanning from Schwarzach-St Veit to Spittal-Millstättersee. Unlike the Semmeringbahn and Mittenwaldbahn routes, this route was never featured in Train Sim 2018 and would make an excellent first Austrian route in Train Sim World. Locomotives DB BR 101 The DB BR 101 operates the EC 114 service along the Tauernbahn route. Whilst in Austria, this route has traffic operated by Deutsche Bahn as well as OBB. Creating the DB BR 101 would also make the creation of future German and Austrian routes easier, as the DB BR 101 operates on many route throughout these countries. OBB 1016/1116 & Railjet As well as the EuroCity services operated by Deutsche Bahn, OBB operates one of its InterCity Railjet services along this route hauled by OBB 1116 locomotives. Despite the OBB 1116 being included in TS18's Semmeringbahn route, no Railjet equipment has been made by DTG before. As well as operating the Railjet service, the OBB 1116 operates many freight services as well. OBB 1044/1144 The OBB 1044/1144 primarily operates freight services along the route, of which there are many. It also operates some passenger services, adding more variety to the route. Conclusion The Tauernbahn is an incredibly scenic route which was never featured in TS18 and would make an excellent first Austrian route for Train Sim World. It features a variety of locomotives from both Deutsche Bahn and OBB, creating variety which has been lacking in previous DTG routes. Whilst only 80 km in length, it takes a while to travel the entire route as the maximum speed is 130 km/h. OBB 1116 hauling a passenger train along the Tauernbahn.
