Hello Folks. Well it’s getting a little closer to release so it’s time I officially announce the TEAM DTG Project. A Project thought up by circumstances and due to the out come. I would like to keep some details close to heart but I will say this. We have all at some point had our issues or problems with DTG and even as we speak their a many still going on. I myself rightly or wrongly jumped on to the band wagon and had a pop at DTG. So the Team DTG Project is all about the positives. What Matt and his team over the years have accomplished as only now when looking back do I fully appreciate what Matt and his teams do and have done. Be that old projects or new. They have battled on and look at where we and they are today. A clear indication of the hard work and dedication to there jobs and passion. ‘Tis is the season of all good men. So not only is this Project about DTG but a Christmas theme has also been created with a few very interesting characters added. For again this is not about the wrongs or the injustices some feel they are subject too but to escape all that and just have some fun. Fun as a community for this project is open for us all to have chance of a meaningful message being placed on this on off livery. For us all including DTG to let our hair down and just have a blast. There are a few teaser shots flying around with more information being available on the Support For DTG,,Kind Messages thread. That thread was set up to allow your messages to be sent in for me to then see what would be the best fitting with other considerations being taken into account due to decal numbers. But at the moment only one brave man has opted at this once in a life time opportunity.(Well how knows could be as I don’t think no one else has done a livery like this). Yet as I say not many have come forward which is a shame because there is much I can’t tell you,,and why it would be a missed opportunity to not only show your support for DTG old and new. But to miss out on having your message and community user name placed along side some famous faces. So due to low message rates at the moment for DTG then I will alter the time back to tomorrow but this will now delay release unless by a quirk of fate you all come out of the wood work. This is not a short term project neither as four units and locos are planned with one or two possibly being added at a later date. As this is a Team DTG Project I have asked for permissions from all involved including right of use. To be clear this Project is not Endorsed or supported by any third parties involved but has been approved for me to allow this project to commence. As I say all will be revealed and I kindly ask you to respect the owners rights as again permission has been granted and is my duty to make all owners rights clear. So anything seen or used on this livery has been given permission and must not be used without any prior permission of us by the respective owners first. An alterations made to the owners logos or trademarks have been granted and given by the respective owner of said rights and solely his/her property. Any names of community members have also given there consent and are used with there permission. Right hope that clears some legal stuff up. So it look like I’ll have to go,,,my notifications has been quiet all day but now it’s lit up like a Christmas tree. I will point out that this is very difficult and timely project as I want this to perfect but a darn good laugh at the same time. The messages take a while to write as it’s down by single decals not just import text. This is for quality and to do DTG proud and those that choose to be involved,,,I really hope you jump on board as this could end up being a first come first type of deal with not many places available. I wanted to spend more time exploring the project but as I say my notifications has light up like mad so I best be going. Hi folks,,,some room still available on what is turning out to be a crazy train. Maybe everyone is still having a SSS or fighting through rush hour traffic,,,I should now spend half me life stuck in it. I know how hectic life can get. So I’d just like for some of those who haven’t had time to see there is still an opportunity to get on board the TEAM DTG livery/ all sorts now. It’s mad and if I shown the community what I have done to help fill those empty spaces and even show the near complete livery I’m sure I wouldn’t have to be doing this. So last night I had to cut it short due to a proper banging head ache still got one now but work must go on,,I will keep checking to see if any last minute passengers show up. Mornings folks. Well I’m gonna make this sort and sweet as I feel I let the project down some what by trying to drum up support that left me with very little to time to concentrate on the actual job in hand. Rather embarrassing if left some obvious mistakes,,,and indication of my tiredness and the effects or probably be snow blind. My eyes where knackered as I’m no spring chicken any more lol. Having to change designs concepts to as the design was based around having those messages. Which sadly again not many appeared. Shame. So without further a do some photos for all that supported me. Thank you for being so kind. To avoid fights,,,you know we boys get like So I have placed them in order of when they came in from first customer to the last. Afternoon all,,,,well just a quick up date. As you can see I’m back in the editor and to be fair I should never left. To all that may have seen the vast amounts of faults is a clear indication of my nerves getting the better of me (Don’t know why,,maybe because I didn’t want to let people down). Yet I have,,,I am completely disgusted at what I turned out,,so many things missed. I guess you could say I was doing to much my eyes where shot,,,the white,,blurred my vision. But these are not excuses, so as you can see above the Livery is back in the Jig to be worked on. Has been since not long being uploaded and after I gave my eye a rest. So I would like to reassure that this second attempt will be as close as I could get it. (Has a got closer Decals became an issue so have to work around this. Limits the amount of artist flow. When I get chance to full explore the thinking behind the whole project and livery then it will become apparent as to how many different themes and designs elements had to be considered then combined for it to work in a real world environment even tho it’s a joke a mess around for Christmas it is also a serious livery for one man use. For again this livery on the 395 is for DTG Matt,,and his team. It is for Matt and is the very core of it all. Part of the original root of the whole Project. My offer my gift. Hence why I wanted so many to get on board with the project but didn’t want to be name dropping as I didn’t want people to also think this has any involvement from any 3rd Parties directly or Indirectly from any named members or DTG themselves. This is all my idea and why I wanted to share as much as could without giving the game away or spoil the surprise. So I best be cracking,,,,a lot of wrongs to put right. A Lot more to do on the Project hence the tight time frame I have placed upon myself,,non of this was every planned in advance so all has to be thought out as I go. Hello,,,right then folks. Today I’m going to focus a little more on what this Project up to now has all been about and what is still to come. I feel I have been completely lost from the start as I wasn’t expecting this to ever have happened. And as a result probably haven’t been able to direct much of why this has taken place in a clear understanding for you the reader. Like I have mentioned previously it’s all come from nothing,,,just a few message in order for me make this livery as a show of appreciation. Born from that was my long ambition to do a TSW theme but do something different,,,outside the box so to speak. So my offer to do a TSW theme for four members at DTG. So Four units or Locos are planned. Yet the timing is a difficult one and all themes may not be applied due to time constraints. For this I feel was important as a TEAM theme,,,I wanted a standard theme across all four. Yet as I say time has been the issue,,due to when this landed on my plate. I had just over a week to try visualise a core base theme,,by that I mean colours or branding from Sunday just the before the last. What also didn’t help was that this was my first Class 395 too so getting use to the little niggles like say the end of the units. Above working out end units. Something I left untouched by mistake and as a result left the over hang on the first released version. Something I am deep embarrassed about. Yet my Wife does keep saying I had no time to little time to do it. In which I reply I know. I say my Wife with but I think she’s disowned me the amount of time I spend on this game. So getting back to the point at this early stage I had to think of a workable design for Matt based on his chosen loco or unit. The use of his Branding UK Train Sim was also asked for right of use just out of good conduct and respect. So the description on CC is try to clear the up who is the original creator of the name or logo. As I am not the original artist or creator so all credit must go to them. Yet I am the creator of the livery and so can claim as co creators, so I do hand right of use of DTG Matt to use at will or so wishes. It is after all for him so can use as wishes from a a concept or creator point of view. Below some early concepts of the colour style brand or livery concept. I Then I had to think about blending UK Train Sim into the design with as promised and at the core a TSW theme and DTG theme. The Pink is what I call the Jig. I use this for eye ref or a guide line for centring and to balance the whole livery out. A must for all,,,my eye for balancing is quite good without but still use even tho it’s a time consuming process. I know in the back of my mind all is level then. I also use simple design as to save on decals as every last one counts. I little bit of an issue to that did hamper the whole design later on by when trying to transfer a decal of say 150 for example to a unit that has space with a slot of 180 available it would not transfer. Even on 998 I still could not transfer one. Why I don’t know. So this is why I use such simple design in a logo or brand, a way to keep cost down as cost are always a contributing factor in any design so again that principle is applied here. Simple to keep cost down and save decals. I also wanted to design it with adaptability in mind for if it was to be used for any other purposes for say promotions. But with all my designs and my tastes I do like to keep them quite conservative,,again simple but effective. Another issues I found when having fun and then losing track,,,the livery became shabby looking. Lost not well thought out. An issue I knew at some point I’d get lost in with playing around with ideas like this logo for example. Something simple but had to work with the main function or identity of the Brand Logo. With any logo it has to be adapted across many formats,,so again use and adaptability I’ve got no space for any more pictures so I’ll continue on separate post,,,,,,,bye for now.
Boo,,,,, A little mess around but due to letting fonts used swayed away from that main logo of UKTSN. So I think I’ve cleared a few basic core elements for Unit 39141, “Matt Peddlesden”. A Fictional Brand with TSW theme for own use,,,his own 395,,with a few little hints in there. Again something I was strongly considering but due to decals that would be need then this wasn’t an option nor did I feel was right and the best policy was to be,,,Hush Hush. ? I’ve also had a little play around so we will move onto the TEAM,,and some characters. Above Unit 39141 With Matt giving Orders and dressed as you know who,,as a bit of laugh and a little touch of fun that I think kinda works. I was laughing my head making it as it looked well I don’t want to say but I am a member and not just of one religion. But it was a laugh making it and I hope Matt you do see the funny side. Now onto Unit 39146 “TEAM DTG” as this was the second part of blending a TEAM DTG together in character form and with the Christmas theme being a route I went down. I also wanted to keep decals to a minimum and also due the design I had to find a way to have body shapes that was completely independent form the background and each other. So nothing could be done from the outside edge but work from inside out. Plus as a way to find a way to utilise the decals DTG have given us for the Livery Designer. So why not make use of then Cakes?. Like Cup Cake Cat. And Chris the Chocolate eclair. By the way if you are wondering why Chris looks so gutted or deflated is he had to deal with me so left him with a kinda shocked devastated expression. Again I bit of fun and a poke at myself too. To be honest my favourite Character and a shout out too one of my favourite childhood movies,,Young Sherlock Holmes,,Written By Chris Columbus and Directed by Barry Levinson. 3 Top Producers was also behind the film them being Steven Spielberg, Kathleen Kennedy And Frank Marshall. Released in 1985 I don’t think many have seen it but it is a proper cool watch and without giving my favourite scene away for those that haven’t seen it then they will know where the idea or inspiration came from for the theme and for Chris the Chocolate Eclair. We also have Matt in the middle dressed as Santa with his DTG goodie bag in the back ground. I Hope I get a Class 700 I need one And a little hint at something to get you all asking what does it mean,?. Sorry folks out of my hand. The rest I’ll see if you can ponder on who they could be,,,why because I haven’t got a clue, just Kidding. So with this Unit I hope again I covered the main core design of a TEAM Theme and. Christmas one. Again I would just like to clear up that my offer and permission of use of names for TEAM livery and use on locos was granted so please respect those that allowed this livery to happen for us to enjoy and have fun with over Christmas. Hi Folks sorry for not completing recent updates on the project I’ve been all over the place as I’m sure you can understand. But just quickly we have the other units nearing some form of completion so hopefully with the time frame I’ve given my self they should be done for Christmas. They maybe slightly different too as to give them a longevity for the user and those that so wish to use it. It would be a shame to treat it a like a puppy just for Christmas. I feel the 395 as Team and with a Christmas theme that has been done. And why if those in powers that be allow me releases the Standard Version for its use and longer use of. Hello folks,,,well It’s that time of year,,kids everywhere’s,,,wrapping paper you name it. So I would like to just quickly release information in regards too locos for Alex an Cat at DTG. Them be a SD40-2 And a Class 08/09. We will start will the SD40-2 first,,with just the basics. 3526 “ALEX KIDD” in with a fictional ALLEX Freight livery. I must say this was my first SD40 and for some reasons it felt different working on this motor over others. Real clean to work on. So nothing to fancy as with both units I wanted them to be usable for who there made for and also for community use. This is why they have no Christmas theme on them. Onto the next one which is my favourite and will definitely be working on theses little shunters more. The Class 08 what a hand full. This livery was also a first for me and with the time frame made the task a lot hard getting use to livery little quirks. It took all 1000 decals for this one. 08 265 “KATHAROS” in a fictional livery themed around Dragons. Why Dragons,,,well I know looking at most work on CC Dragons was a theme seen in most of Her work. So this is why we have a little Dragon at the heart of the logo. I did want to make a large complex looking dragon but was to much for such a small frame. Again for long term use I wanted to make it look real as possible and is not just for a little bit of fun but to give users the impression that these could be seen in operation if only on TSW4. And I guess that’s it for now. Be time to attack the Christmas dinner in a min so I’ll bid you farewell for now. I’m not to sure what I’ll be doing in the next few days,,,may take some time of but I know I won’t be away for long as I need to do the last and forth unit the Class 700. Hi folks well obviously it’s a busy time of year so a few things have been delayed. But today I just want give some update on this project as sadly I don’t feel this has been as successful as I’d hoped and so with any project in two minds to close it down early. For with any project especially if time and money is involved and it’s not working then close it down. No point on wasting more time and money on a unsuccessful project. And with any project sometimes there are successes but more than often they are not. So I may close this down earlier than expected even tho I am letting the one member I wanted to thank down the most. As I say I hoped the project would have been more of a success and something to look back on with pride but as harsh as this will sound as the creator I feel it’s more of an embarrassment than anything to look on with any confidence it was a success. I don’t like to say what I am but the project took some valuable time away and something I’m not proud to say but am not willing to waste more valuable time on a failed or failing project. Always best to close it down, walk away and don’t look back. To be fair I wish I had the Holiday Express DLC first before launching I do now own it and have all decals that would have come in handy even the settings them selfs would have done it justice. Shame as I didn’t think this would be as much fun as it was playing around with my own front room train set. Even the trains look toy like it fantastic and I am so gutted I never had this before making it or releasing. To late now tho Christmas has passed just another page in the history books. Im aware it’s been a busy time of year so may give it some time before I close this down sadly again one unit short. Well two actually as the Standard 395 was due out. I may release but again do I spend time on say finding decals to do the Javelin logo,,,on a project that’s not been well received. All this I say all this with no pride at all but I have to be realistic here and be honest. It’s not worked. I’d be a fool to waste any more time on something that’s not worked. Especially from a creative standpoint I have many projects to open or continue that did gain some traction or feel would be worthwhile committing time too. I hope anyone that reads can understand from any developer perspective money, time nor resources should never be wasted. I feel that same principle applies herein. Well this is nice,,,and I wonder if anyone can help as all this seems to be going west,,and I am not happy at all. Can anyone explain why I’ve come to work on a livery I was going to try recovery and place out but this is what I’m faced with as of now. They are blanked out and not by me as you can see both units are covered and done nicely around the door surrounds. I have not done this so DTG must have. Why?. Why not speak to me firsthand and why do this without even a word from no one after doing something I thought I was nice. Right now I think this is absolutely disgusting that not one person could speak to me firstly about this. The way I get and this is what they have done,,,,I’m sorry but that’s it. I’m done,,. I can’t take anymore of this now. All that effort and for nothing. So yes I’m sorry folks but I’m done with TSW. Don’t know what I’ll do now like but hey ho,,,TSW was all I had but this has done it for me. Me. (TSLP)
