    This is my route proposal.

I would like to see in TS2019 is the Tees Valley Line & The Esk Valley Line & Yorkshire Coast combined.

In this route you would drive trains from Darlington all the way to Whitby. In the 1950's there was two lines that served Whitby which was, The Yorkshire Coast Line and The Esk Valley. This would open up huge possibilities for scenario creations, such as, Whitby Fish to Tees Yard or Darlington. There is also potash (Boulby Mine) and steel (British) freight workings and trains which would make for good scenarios. I know some of you will say, Tees Valley is out for TSW, but sometimes it's not everyone cup of tea. There is some very challenging gradients, like the climb from Middlesbrough to Battersby.

    Tees Valley Stations

    Darlington, Middlesbrough, to Saltburn etc

    Yorkshire Coast Line

Middlesbrough, Redcar, North Skelton, Loftus, Brotton, Hinderwell (For Robin Hoods Bay), Staithes (had huge single track viaduct), Kettleness, Sandsend, Whitby West Cliff, Whitby Town.

    Esk Valley Line

Middlesbrough, Marton (Ormesby), Great Ayton, Battersby (Where trains reverse for Whitby), Kildale, Commondale, Castleton, Danby, Lealhome, Glaisdale, Egton, Grosmont, Sleights, Ruswarp, Whitby Town. This could include the Guisborough Branch.

I know that this route has potential, but what does everyone think?

Someone, and it does appear to be someone on their own rather than a team of any kind, is having a go at the North Yorkshire coast here:

There's a few YouTube videos showing the progress which appears to be bitingly close to vintage photographs and footage. I hope the developer's ambition does not exceed his patience.

North Yorkshire Coast (2017) is an excellent freeware route, but if you don't have UKTS Premium, then the 236 MB download might be a bit much for you. This version is set between the 1950s and 1960s, and runs from Guisborough to Saltburn West Junction as well as the massive Skinningrove Ironworks. This is the route JJTimothy talked about in his post above, and there should be a new version Soon™.

If you want something more modern, then you can try the Boulby Branch by the same author, and covers much of the same trackage around 1990.

My thanks for the better information. A lot of dependencies (what's the "Island Line"?) but worth keeping an eye on.

The Island Line is the alternate name for the Isle of Wight route - it's what the original post-privatization franchise was called, and the asset box in-game shows up under RSDL<IslandLine. The route will work without some dependencies, though Donner Pass is the only one I don't have nor do I plan to buy it in the future.

Another great freeware steam-era route is Steaming over Beattock and it's partner, Steaming over Shap, both from a great site called Wotawally's Bits. They've also got some lovely BR blue versions of routes - it's worth having a look around.

If you want yet more steam-era routes, the only other one I can think of is North Lincolnshire, a work in progress for a number of years and is almost entirely complete except for a small bit of scenery between Retford and Lincoln. The route features Retford, Lincoln, Boston, Skegness, Grimsby, Immingham, Barnetby, and Scunthorpe. Has a little over 100 stations, at least 150 miles of track, and lots of dock areas for your collection of shunters. Requires the European Loco & Asset Pack plus the AP Station Pack.

    Oh good- I've got that.

I like driving kettles now and then but I'm a child of the modern era (by which I mean Diesel-electric- of course my favourite route is the Weardale and Teesdale which I consider modern era but that's because... What was I saying...?). All good leads thank you.
