I’ve noticed that the TVL, Class 20 & 31 are all on sale at the moment through the PS store and I’m deciding whether to get them or not.

I was just wondering for those who have the DLC what your opinion of them are and if you think they are worth picking up?

I feel they're both good locos with quite different characteristics. The 31's brakes and throttle are a good challenge and the 20 is a joy to drive.
The only down point for me is the class 20 LOD on PS4 could be a bit better. From a short distance the white disc markers are not round at all.

I feel the class 31 adds more to the line than the 20. The 20 is a great Loco though so probably worth picking up both, but if I had to choose 1 it would the the 31.

I think they are both excellent and definitely worth buying. They add cement and limestone traffic to the line as well. The Limestone trains which come with the class 20 only have a short run from Eaglescliffe to Tees yard but the 20 can be used on steel and coal trains instead of the 37s if you want.

TVL is probably my favourite route, and the one I've spent most time on. If you like the route, both loco DLC's are worth it, but if I had to choose one, I'd go for the Class 31. Pulling the 101 with a 31, and staying to schedule is a nice challenge. That said, driving the 101 on TVL is my favourite route and loco combo, so even just having TVL on its own is a good addition. I love driving the 101 - great "clackity clack" sounds on TVL and the gears make it a really interesting loco to master.

As they're all on sale for a little while, maybe try the route first with the excellent 101, and then decide on the other loco's afterwards.

Is it just me or are the locos on this route pointing backwards, when you look at the map the loco arrow points to the back of the train and on the HUD the up gradients are actually down and vice versa

Agree with everything Maxrom has said. I have both the class 31 and 20 dlc and love them. TVL is one of my most played routes, and these two locos really add to the experience. The sounds are great, especially the class 20, the class 31 seems to spew diesel fumes out as well.

Yeah I've noticed this too. Ever since the 20 was added. I've noticed it with all locos on that route.

One of my favorite routes, and both DLC locos are good IMO.

Its so the class 20's can work in multiple nose to nose.
