Im not sure if this has been found before or not but I'll drop it in here for anyone who needs it if DTG arent willing to fix whats been broken since its release. I think Ive found a solution to the decoupling bug that would remove some features of free roam. Normally if you drive or even spawn a train and click the manual uncouple then something breaks in the code of TSW and Free Roam either takes away Go-Via features or just stops setting routes all together. If you want to do some shunting before a freight run this was basically impossible as you would never get a proper route setting function upon departure. However I think I have found a fix. Or atleast a part fix to atleast allow you to assemble a train. - Using a BR363 (Or 365 if you only have Niddertalbahn), complete the shunting duties in a yard to assemble a train, you will need a large enough headshunt to accommodate your moves without a signal as you cant set any routes ideally. - Then bring your train to a location you can attach the mainline locomotive(s) to the head end, but DONT couple them yet. - Head over to your mainline locomotive(s) and activate the train by sitting in the cab (making the shunting train white on the map) - walk back to the 36x Shunter and use the uncouple lever inside the cab, but DONT sit down in the cab, leave it as a static item as far as the code knows. - then fold the coupler away to avoid it recoupling when bumping it later for the mainline couple, you may need to step back as it will try to show you the manual couplers if you stand close. - head back to your mainline locos and pull onto the head end of your consist, couple up and if my findings are the same as anyone else you should then have a shunted freight train with full route setting free roam capability Its absolutely made my morning to find this as I've had so many cool idea around freight and waggon moves but DTGs poor Free Roam feature cant handle that.
