I'm wondering if it could be possible to add the feature of Temporary Speed Restrictions into Train Sim World 3?

The basic premise being that along parts of the route, you would encounter random TSR's (for example due to engineering work) that would mean you have to reduce from line speed to, say for example, 20mph until the train clears the area? These TSR's are usually marked by a double white flashing board, followed by yellow signs indicating the upcoming lower speed limit, then two signs indicating the start of the temporary limit (for example 20) and the end of the limit (marked with the letter T)

I believe this is a feature in Train Simulator Classic (I've not played it myself, but noticed it on a video when I was learning more about the upcoming Birmingham Cross City Line)

I think this would add a lot of realism and also variety to the game (but it could also me made as a toggle on/off feature for thos that would rather not use it)

Anyway that's my suggestion, would love to know if it could become possible!

It could only really work in scenarios, ie standalone timetables
Unfortunately the scoring and AI just don't cope with random changes that TSRs would bring from what DTG have said in the past

It depends on the speed but the time penalty for a 50 MPH TSR over a short stretch is probably less than a minute. In theory, where the timetable is Joe compiled based on real life, there will be recovery time in accordance with "Rules Of The Plan" within each schedule. Lengthy 20 MPH TSR's are relatively rare these days and usually due to something exceptional like subsidence or unfinished track renewal work.

Of course, and I'm only going by what Matt said (a while back) in that such things were problematic

Good suggestion mate, this would add that real life element to the game and most importantly add that extra variety too a run.

That's a really good idea, but just for clarity's sake it sounds like what you're describing is a warning indicator for an Emergency Speed Restriction.

These are like a TSR, but have to be striking because the driver is not expecting it - they have been set up at short notice and so do not appear in the driver's Weekly Operating Notice that they have to read.

Details are in Wiki, in the Speed Restrictions section...https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UK_railway_signalling

An ESR has the same equipment as a TSR, but with the Warning Indicator added and an extra warning magnet.
