Well, I've been working on a small test route to get familiar with the editor for a couple of days, and built a small hill. Now I want to put tracks on it and everything works well, but is it somehow possible to make the terrain the perfect height for the tracks since currently they just float or are underground for parts. I remember a tutorial somewhere, but i cannot seem to find it. :(

Working with extremly gross SRTM data in a hill and mountain area, I am having problems with that too and need to form/reshape my landscape much to fit the tracks.

I guess you lay your tracks on SRTM terrain as well?

Splines in landscape mode meant for roads and rivers however can be placed so that terrain does this reforming process automatically and forms itself to fit to the splines. It's called non-destructive splines as I remember. You can google it and find a few Videos on YouTube how that works.

Dovetail should implement a feature that the same works when placing tracks.

I don't know. To be honest, I didn't tried creating splines that way yet. I just came over the topic while I was looking for a way to place roads. And for the roads I've placed so far using this technique didn't made sense because I only placed tracks at even terrain yet.

I don't even know if it would work to using non-destructive splines to shape the terrain first, then delete the splines themselves and thereafter place the tracks on this reshaped terrain.
