I'm surprised I have to add this as a feature suggestion, considering every simulator ever has had some form of text box to provide information in scenarios.
Now, I'm not surprised that DTG didn't do voiceover on the GP40-2, doing voiceover on everything would be an absurd task, but despite no voiceover, they still only gave text as subtitles. Text without audio should really be given in a popup box, not a subtitle.

DTG may argue that subtitles are perfectly adequate, but I'd have to disagree. Subtitles can't handle things like showing a picture of a track warrant or timetable that some scenario creators like to put in the beginning of a scenario, for example...and they don't work well without audio.
And subtitles are inherently bad design for providing text information without audio. Subtitles are designed to supplement talking, not replace it! Subtitles are out of the way, designed to not be seen...which is a problem when seeing them is the only way to get information. Subtitles are also timed with some pretty short timers that can make them hard to read fully. Those two make it very likely to completely miss a set of subtitles, which might have really important information! A text box, on the other hand, is much more effective, as it is designed to give text without audio.

But the biggest problem of subtitles is that there is a darn option to turn off subtitles. DTG is basically forcing us to have subtitles on to know what the heck is going on in the GP40-2 scenarios; someone with subtitles off because they can understand what is being said will go into a GP40-2 scenario and be given no information as to what to do at all, and the scenarios will become infinitely more confusing

Voiceovers and walls of text are two very different things, and as such, should be treated differently.

Just for the record, I like vocal instructions together with text, too. That's what we got with the scenarios included in the original CSX and TSW routes, but the voice component has been dropped from the more recent CSX DLC package. I immediately missed that rather jovial male voice and still appreciate hearing the differences in accents and intonations.

Will they let us hear the German driver or keep him mute?

Well, that's exactly what I'm saying-subtitles are completely appropriate for the CSX and GWE scenarios, just not for the GP40-2 scenarios.
