It’s been 3 months since the release of TSW 5 on Xbox Series X and PS5, and the issue of textures popping in and out is still prevalent on WCMLS (even post-update) and on both routes that have the class 380 as a layer. This is simply not good enough for us as players and it’s been basically ignored by DTG for the longest time now. Please, can someone from DTG tell us when we can expect this to be solved, as it’s a huge immersion breaker.
Hello - unfortunately, when the textures appear at a lower resolution on consoles, this is directly linked to the memory budgets that those systems have running out, which is related to general route performance. We've been sharing some news of our development for optimisations to help, and our recent patches have had some minor changes that should reduce this slightly, but this is an ongoing investigation and we're not at the solution yet. As a note, we've got some insight from our testing teams we plan to share with you all before the holiday break, that should give you some details on how you can minimise this happening based on what we've seen (Dynamic weather for example may use quite alot of memory when you're in busy areas, so enabled clear weather only may help in the meantime). It’s worse now than it was when I posted this. I’d never had this issue on ECML and it was basically my last route I could play without this but after the game update a couple days ago it’s happening here too. What an absolute shambles.
