So I've been watching videos of people making there travels on the TGV from Frankfurt to France. Will there be an update to use TGV on Schnellefahrstrecke or ICE on Marseille to Avignon? I'm not so familiar with the specific railway companies that run lines in Europe but it would be cool wouldn't it? I would like to hear everyone's thoughts. And yes, I've seen the Timetable German route names when TGV released the other day, but I suspect it as a bug. Let me know!
The TGV Duplex 200 series runs exclusively on French lines. TGV 2N2 Euroduplex runs on HMA Thalys PBKA runs on SKA. The difference is that while 2N2 has the same aesthetics and coaches as the 200 series it has the correct systems for running in Germany (LZB and the correct pantographs). Thalys PBKA has the Reseau coaches (not the double decker coaches) and is used on: Paris Bruxelles (TVM signalling) Köln (ERTMS/LZB) Amsterdam (TVM IIRC)
There is a daily TGV from Frankfurt to Marseille using the Euroduplex. The ICE3M can run into France and is TVM capable - not sure if this is the case with the TSW version
I think our ICE3M is the one that goes to Bruxelles so it's only equipped with LZB and ERTMS (not modelled in TSW) to run on the Belgian HSL3, the only version to be equipped with TVM was a special version specifically designed to run on the french network (ICE3MF), if someone knows better please correct me ICE3MF cabin, as you can see it has KVB and the TVM interface. Anyway just like with the TGV a bit of imagination and the scenario designer is all you need
Here's a clip of an ICE 3MF at the german/french border entering France, performing the voltage changeover. Timestamp: 20:40 - 22:08 From the same documentary here's another clip of the ICE 3MF in action with TVM-430 enabled running behind a TGV. Timestamp: 22:48 - 23:55 It's supercool, hope DTG can implement the safety system and voltage changeover feature for the ICE in future DLCs.
Same and also for the TGV POS & Euroduplex alongside ICE 3MF & DB BR 407 they have Sifa LZB/PZB ETCS TVM-430 & KVB Installed. For Frankfurt to Paris services, they use either Forbach Saarbrucken or the Faster Strasbourg-Kehl-Karshule due to both routes rejoining each other in Mannheim. Voltage & Signalling change over points are Forbach if operating the Paris Gare l'Est-Saarbrucken-Mannheim routing if the faster Strasbourg route is used then 2010 built Strasbourg-Kehl Bridge is used https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-11969371 Also, the Paris Est to Frankfurt via Strasbourg can be combined with a Marseille Frankfurt service as a scenario that requires these trains ICE3MF DB BR406 DB BR407 TGV POS & TGV 2N2.
