Would anyone rather have the newer TGV Avelia Euroduplex instead of the older SNCF TGV Duplex? Images Sources: Wikimedia Commons: 1, 2, 3, 4 1 & 2: SNCF TGV Duplex interior 3 & 4: TGV Avelia Euroduplex interior.
One of these trains can actually operate into Germany that is the Euroduplex since it has PZB LZB Sifa 15kv 16.7hz support. The same LGV Mediterranean Marseille area 1.95m pantograph is also used for 15kv 16.7hz Deutsche Bahn wires. One route that Euroduplex can operate is HMA where they operate Paris Strasbourg Karlshrue-Sttugart-Augsberg-Munich services.
The TGV 2N2 (Euroduplex) is similar to the "normal" Duplex on the outside but completely different on the inside. Not only in the coaches but also in the cab. This is not just a simple retexture, this a completely new model. So as long as we don't have a route for the TGV 2N2 I would rather like to see older TGV models in the game.
Absolutely correct looks like my suggestion can work for TGV 2N2 the Appenweier-Strasbourg Railway used by ICE TGV Line 84 Frankfurt Marseille & the one that uses HMA Line 83 Paris Augsburg-Munich both via Strasbourg
Well the line 83 only has two trainset a day from or to München. Having a layer for just one services is questionable. The same applies for the LGV where just two trainsets drive to Frankfurt each day. I am not sure about the rolling stock that drives to Switzerland but since this is only a seasonal service I expect this is served by the lower capacity TGV POS. Your suggestion would an excellent route for the TGV 2N2 but sadly there's not much going on with layers on other routes.
Looks like they need to pull up actual timetables then. How about Line 82 the faster Frankfurt-Karlshrue-Appenweier-Strasbourg-LGV Est to Paris Gare L'Est that can work too for the Euroduplex?. One of the Scenarios for the Appenweier Strasbourg-Karlshrue route should involve coupling The Frankfurt Marseille TGV 2N2 to the Paris Est Strasbourg-Frankfurt TGV 2N2
Euroduplex might be interesting if we get let's say a route from Strasbourg to Karlsruhe. As for the LGV route we have, I'd be way more on board with the addition of Reseau (and Reseau-Duplex considering the coaches are already in the game). Increases variety a lot more and basically adds 2 trains while creating a model for only one.
