I'm loving the LGV route but I'm unsure as to what each safety system is for and how to correctly use them. Can someone let me know what TVM, VACMA & KVB do please? Also, how do I correctly set up the speed selector? Thank you.
I would recommend the following: Go on Youtube on the official train simulator channel and look for the livestream from this Tuesday. Matt has shown and explained everything that is possible with the train, including all safety systems, how to activate and use them as well as how they work. He also shows the speed selector. It was a great stream and I believe it will help you more than if we would write a wall of text about it here
There is a manual available for this train you can download it even without buying the DLC apparently!
It would have been nice of DTG to put the manual for this on the manuals page (which is titled Guides for some odd reason) of their website. Why are they still so bad at this? Do they not have a release day checklist for this kind of thing? If they can get the manual on Steam, surely they can put it on their own website.
It would be nice to see safety systems added in tutorials. I don't know about anyone else but I struggle to read and apply what I read into practice with things like complex safety systems and train setup formations for csx. But readable manuals will be beneficial anyway overall.
Something about the TVM system (note: the cockpit "speed" table description is very interesting and helpful) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transmission_Voie-Machine
I've noticed that as soon as you get the warning of a speed reduction ahead (the numbers displayed in 'diamonds'), the HUD shows you as overspeed if you're above that limit, even though it isn't yet in force.
