I just want to say a huge thanks to Just Trains for giving us 5 more liverys for the class 87, all of them look really good. now I do wonder if similar things would happen with the class 86/2 and class 142 tfw. my one ask is could we possibly get a more weathered version of the br blue class 87?
Definetly! Lets release 5 new livery types for the customers. Looking forward to their next project. Day1 for me!
What makes me smile is the fact is that this is a FREE update. I think pretty much every other dev for this game would make it a paid gameplay pack of some sort. This is awesome that just trains seem to be all about the customers.
To be honest, I think it was my favourite livery of the AP Class 87, so I'm glad to have it in game. Just desperately waiting on the 86.
Makes me wonder (hope, even, as I've really enjoyed what they've done so far with Blackpool Branches and Preston-Carlisle) if their next project will continue to be in the same time period, to get more use out of these new additions.
I hope so. While their upcoming Pacer for the Cardiff route doesn't interest me (not them, it's the route), another JT route that takes advantage of what they've already brought to TSW would be wonderful.
The 87s are limited to WCML really, but 86s could also appear on Anglia services. Aside from Carlisle to Glasgow which has apparently been ruled out, I wouldn't mind seeing a 1980s run into Euston, perhaps using the WCMLS as a base and backdating - it would be a very different route, so worth re-buying.
I have seen photos of 87s on the Great Eastern during BR days on freight, usually the second loco on a double-headed freight service. Though that wasn't always the case, here's a few photos I've just seen on Flickr at Stratford: Plus in a more modern setting, LSL's 87002 Royal Sovereign covered the GEML on a rail tour a few years ago.
I still feel JT will do one more part of the WCML in the 80s era, likely Preston to Crewe, to get the most out of the 87 and 86 releases.
Mandatory post to remind everyone that Just Trains still haven't fixed the issues for Blackpool Branches that causes crashes for 8th gen - and to be honest a free livery pack is cool but don't you think they should fix the thing that's broken first? I've upgraded to a PS5 now and can play it finally, but for 4 months on my PS4 pro, and anyone still using an 8th gen console, it still crashes at Preston. I think it might be a nice idea to perhaps fix whatever issue broke it between 4 and 5, it's $55 in my region and that's a fair amount of coin to spend on something to work, then break, and then not be fixed while livery packs get released and new DLC gets announced. It could just be me but aren't their usually long forum threads complaining when this happens on other routes.
No one is saying JT are saints. Some of their early TSC stuff was quite bad, the separate purchase of rolling stock and route for the Met was a bit of a cash grab. But generally they know their stuff and most of the issues with their content in TSW are more core related.
i think this more linked to gen 8 being too weak, like even i have issues with it when i was still on gen 8, on gen 9 it runs really well
I understand the frustration on this matter and we are frustrated with it too. But the Gen 8 crash isn't on us at Just Trains, its an issue which lies within Dovetail Games' realm. This occurs on other DLC too. All we can do is raise it with Dovetail which we have several times with no progression. Thanks, Thomas
It does run better for me on the PS5 but at least in TSW4 I was able to take a train into Preston on the PS4 and it wouldn't crash the whole game. I completely understand where your coming from and since upgrading to a PS5 it isn't an issue, while I can't prove it with data the 'feel' is that TSW5 has introduced more problems to the game than has introduced new features. its still a $55 DLC though, maybe pull it from gen 8 availability to stop people going forward, that's surely not an idea to balk at?
