Can we expect a midnight release again, or will this be happening on Thursday afternoon (similar to PC)? DTG seem to be keen on getting away from the midnight releases on consoles, but I honestly love them. Downloading and firing up a promising new route for the first time in the middle of the night after only having seen 1-2 full services on the preview stream is a great feeling, full of excitement and joy.
No as far as I am aware they look to be releasing in the afternoon from now on across all platforms apparently. But I will sneakily keep an eye on a midnight release whilst not holding my breath. Regards Hentis
That was my understanding as well. Sony releases are always at midnight local time. Would be very suprised if this new route comes out later during the day.
As with West Cornwall local, Sherman Hill and the DLC before that they have all released in the afternoon on Xbox, Playstation and at somepoint between 4 and 6 for PC. This has been going on the last few months. Yes the release for Xbox and Playstation was at midnight in the past but for DTG's own reasons they changed it. Regards Hentis
We have stepped away from releasing at midnight for consoles, and it isn't something you should expect for future releases. I'm not saying it will never happen again, however it is very unlikely.
Trust me thats what I've been saying to the Xbox users since we got moved to the later times back in August. Some PS users though popped in and basically laughed at people upset about it. So I just couldn't pass up on the opportunity...all in fun.
To be able to provide support at release and so that the people at the respective stores (Sony/Microsoft/Valve/Epic) are at work in case any problems arise at launch.
