This is a thing bothers me since Salzburg-Rosenheim...the over-use of the 4024. I know this isn´t an actual topic but I want to discuss it before I forget it again.:o

So, the 4024 made its debut along with another copy of the 185.2 in S-Bahn Vorarlberg. Remind, that the 4024 was the flagship loco of that route and stood for S-Bahn Vorarlberg as a clear USP. With Salzburg-Rosenheim, DTG gave us a copy of that 4024. I think a layer for the VBRG 4024 could do it as well, because the services are ca. 13 minutes long. And on top, Semmeringbahn included also a 4024 - but as it is set 2024, unlike VBRG with 2019 and SRM with 2013, the livery is wrong (in my opinion), because 4024s are in the modern Cityjet-livery nowadays and not anymore in this CityShuttle-livery. And my problem is not only that - my main problem with this topic is that the 4024 was supposed to be the key loco for S-Bahn Vorarlberg and especially with Semmeringbahn, where you can use the 4024 a lot, this idea got broken in a really bad way. S-Bahn Vorarlberg doesn´t make so much fun with this fact not having a unique train anymore (and in addition without any IC/EC services)

Let me know what you think about that!:)

not really overused IMO... it is the only Austrian EMU they got atm... along with Desiro ML, which is not yet in the game, those two are literally THE backbone of Austrian regional travel, with 5047s, Hercules and others doing the really branch and one-track lines/routes... and yes, nowadays most are modernized and in CityJet livery, but I still see old 4024s, sometimes they pop up on S80 or S45 in Vienna, for example :)

and yes, it is also important on Semmeringbahn, where I dont play it cos they made it substitute EMU on CJX9, a service I took a couple times, or saw in various stations around Stammstrecke in Vienna, and it was always CityJet Desiro ML... cos, thats the thing about CJX - Desiro ML unleashed in its full might and power

as for 4024, recently I had taken one to Marchegg on the upgraded Ostbahn to Marchegg, and on some parts, it would fly 140 kph, damn nice

so yeah, if we see more Austrian routes, Desiro needs to be there... 4024s are used on routes that dont need that much power or speed as Desiro has :) , more as a supplement than main EMU :)

Having a previously used piece of rolling stock included in a route means you don't have to buy another dlc to get a layer. Plus it's extra traffic for "free" basically since you only need the route itself if the train is already included.

also, I am sure that many fans of German/Austrian content/locos would love Railjet, 1144 Herbert, CityShuttle shenanigans etc., but we are not there yet... I, too, am hoping for more machines I admire on my travels to Vienna and surroundings :) ... a lot of the time I check Nahverkehr Ostregion posters in S-Bahn and REX trains and think yay, how nice it would be to drive em in-game... not yet, but hopefully someday :)

just remembered one thing... some time ago I created an approximate recreation of the CityJet livery on 4024, and called it MiriJet... it should be available in Creators club... of course, I didnt put all the signage you would normally find on sides of locos/EMUs, since I cant be bothered with it when doing liveries :D

if you want, of course :)

What bothers me more is: where are the vectrons on semmering, and where are the 1116s at vorarlberg?

Has anybody ever seen them spawning into a formation??

(I know they can be selected from the menu, but thats really not my point).

Absolutely right, especially the Vectron on Semmeringbahn, where you still can´t select the custom liveries for the freight trains...:(

this cab car is gorgeous, they use it on new 2nd gen Railjets, and I believe they also now use Vectron 230, which is (for now) exclusive to OBB and ČD :)
