if anyone doesn’t know, DTG every year do a locomotive teaser for their April Fools Day Celebrations. Since TSW3.

these locos then get properly announced in the roadmap a few days later.

TSW3 had the Class 700, which was in a teaser image.

TSW4 had the Class 380 and the Expert DB 101, both also in a teaser image.

    What could this Year Bring?

Few Guesses Here; but feel free to discuss.

    Class 730 for BCC?
    New UK Freight Loco?
Screenshots of the DB 430 for the Upcoming Frankfurt S Bahn Route?
Screenshots of the 420 for The Frankfurt Route?

Now they've done Thomas, it may be a steamer depending on how that has gone down. Also ties in with the 200 year celebration of the Railway.

Usually this ties into the April Roadmap doesn’t it ???. Sort of like a tease even though it’s an April Fools lol.

Probably won’t be anything Scotrail this year as we got the 380 Last year… Might be something Freight related this time ??. Just a pure guess…

Class 60.... We know that DTG and Skyhook have both been denied access to one....
(very unfortunate given that DTG have a DB license for multiple trains in the game)

For the german teaser (if there'll be one this year), I honestly hope for this:

I would rather bet on S-Bahn Berlin honestly but it's just unlikely.

We have been dreaming for so long tho, we need to see this for real on TSW. It’s a must, hopefully my plan will make this dream come true;).

Well that isn’t very PR friendly from DB, DTG trying to provide for the fans but DB prevent fans being happy.

Bad PR there DB, yet as always there could be a genuine reason. Shame tho as this class is just sat there after a short operational life rusting away.

So come on DB let the fans be happy. A GBRf fan as they do please fans.
Great work on 69014, “Longport TMD” a master piece.

No, I wish I could but, I’m an ideas man. I’d leave the model making to those that have done it for many decades.

Could help a struggling industry and keep work in the UK;)

But sadly no, wish I could, so leaving all that side of things for the experts.
We can only Dream can’t we:)

Oh no,,,,,,. Is this Edward? Or Henry?. It’s not James he’s Red. Thinking I need to catch up with the series, the 1980s stuff with Ringo doing the voice over.

Considering it’s Railway 200 this year, I hope that DTG has a bit more of a focus on heritage stock. Be it historical routes, preserved locomotives in current day or dare I say it, reworked steam physics.

An update to Birmingham Cross City and new traction for West Coast Mainline South that'll come with a Class 730 pack.
    upload_2025-3-27_16-9-29.jpeg
    upload_2025-3-27_16-9-57.jpeg

Does anyone else think the sub-classes are bonkers? 730/0 for 3 car, 730/2 for 5 car. I know it's not always possible to match a sub-class number to reflect the number of cars in the consist but in this case it makes no sense to me.

Oh thanks for the correction, been so long since I’ve watched Thomas and Friends.

Adored the series and franchise as a child, sadly I had to get working, but now I’m not I can be a kid again.

I will do my research on a favourite friend from the past. Just out of interest remember the Tug Boat program that was done by the same studio’s. I forget the proper title now, 80s program, but that was good too. The models and scenery was so cool, shame they turned them all digitally now. Models a thing of the past, just lazy cheap productions by TV stations now. :(

Yes I know him know, it’s all coming back to me. Mr I’m the best because I’m an express kinda personality.
Chuffed to bits until he gets derailed and it takes Thomas and the gang to help out. All the while every loco and stock that goes passed are peeing their sides with laughter

    I’m gonna watch it tonight.

My memory has been refreshed over the years as I've sat and watched Thomas with the kids on many occasions.

I kind of remember the tug boat series can't remember what it was called though. I'm sure someone will.

I’d have some of that. I like the US routes, I have most. But what I like about this suggestion is the large side panels.
As a livery guy that side panel is a dream come true. So a defo from me. ✌

That was it, so long since I’ve seen it, but still remember it tho some how. Engraved in the subconscious I guess.

So thank you so much, it’s put a smile on me face thinking of all those great kids programs that others still fondly remember.

    Nice one✌

Worked a lot from home unfortunately too.

So Chuggington get there before Thomas did. (Angry face)

I dont get why DTG havent made the 412 by now. One of the most requested locos and with FTF there is THE perfect route for it.
I assume it would even sell good if it was 20 euros because everyone whos at least a bit into getting german content will buy this.
I can only think of it being hold back for the Tsw 6 release.

Anyways my guess is something from either DTG making a new shunter or the loco pack by TSG. For other countrys i agree with people above.

Nar, personally and I have nothing over Europe routes but we have loads.

DTG need to mix it by introducing others countries such as Australia as an example. The mix of locations and Locos. Not the repeat market that is becoming tiresome for some, like the new DLC released a few days ago. That’s pretty cool to be fair but come on,,,it’s like having a racing track with Silverstone and Hockenhiem (if that’s the correct spelling) with Nothing but UK, (non) and German car manufacturers.
It may suit the individual but a company must bring something new and fresh to be relevant in this fast moving market.

Something many don’t consider with possible future routes or locos. Plus the wider they go the higher the cost to develop.
That cost will be passed on to the consumer. So cost is a massive factor like most things.

And why I accept I won’t be seeing an Australian route any time soon, Big Boy or Hush Hush locomotives.

Cheers for setting this up. I’m finding it quite interesting, and so looking at all the locos people want, but nothing being done.
    I’m gonna try change this.

But I am a little fish, trying to swim with the sharks. So all I can do is try.
Your thread is giving me some insight on what user want. That’s a Market.

A Market, that’s not yet been explored;)

"This is TUGS" *saxophone goes crazy*
Aww man I used to love Tugs as well!
The theme song was just incredible!

Both that and the original Thomas series used to do dark, foggy atmospheric nights so well the episodes used to be scary but in the best way!

DB couldn't possibly give DTG or Skyhook access to a Class 60... They don't have any in service anymore.

The only other operators of them are GBRF (who are seemingly not interested in licensing to DTG) and DC Railfreight.

Yep with their little caps on.

You sum that era of programs up perfectly. Something that really got me into lighthouse and for some strange reason landscapes.
Probably why I tried my hands at train modelling but that wasn’t to be either. Way expensive for me.

But yes they did really have a fantastic way of making those effects back then. I still prefer them too. Because with Ai ya know it’s Ai but with things like Tugs and Thomas then nothing will replace that mystery of how did they do that.
It made it more special some how. Amazing shows.

Yet we grow up unfortunately, Hence the Name Rigsby, Rising Damp, a series I loved as a child and someone I’ve turned in to Rigsby.
I should have called my cat Vienna lol.

Thanks for sharing, I’m so glad you was there when the good time where.
