Sorry if this has been discussed before but I think the Birmingham cross city line needs a update, especially Birmingham new street needs more traffic as it is far to quiet in the game compared to irl Also would love to see the 730 added on to the route especially as now wmr are retiring the 323 from service that's assuming that DTG still have the licence for wmr. And also at Lichfield trent valley they have the lower platforms where the wcml passes through already modeled would love to see that get used even if it was only AI traffic or gor them to add that section of the wcml at some point, especially as it could add more traffic going through Birmingham new street
Fully agree, this was my local line for many, many years when I was growing up. Particularly the section between Birmingham and Redditch. I believe there are some AI freight services that pass on the Litchfield Trent Valley lower platforms. (Although I'm not sure of their timings)
Wasn’t they suppose to add the 730’s to replace the 323’s stock? I can’t remember what I read now, as it was back in March. I know DTG had some update in the works. If someone could tell me if I’m right or wrong on that info as I’m generally curious myself.
Would be great to get a new timetable for BCC at least - could incorporate AI 390s and 350s so BHM isn't so empty. Would love for Soho Depot to be in as well, but sadly this is probably under the scope of an extension.
They need to extend it to add the variety it needs in rolling stock. Said it a few weeks back, this is a prime candidate for a TSW6 extended release version (like SEHS), so doubt it will be done before then. Needs two separate terminals outside of the route already done so we have a crosshair going through New Street. A couple of layers a new loco for the route plus a separate loco dlc sounds like it could really make the route what it can be.
Purposely didn't buy Glossop but yes I'm not a fan of single unit routes as long as there should be other trains on it, Suffragette is fine as that's the way it is, and it benefits from some freight. But BCC is too predictable and needs more variety.
Adding the 350’s and 390’s from WCMLS as AI in and around New Street would give this route a huge boost but seems unlikely as we know DTG rarely backdate layers. As regards extending, well Walsall the logical section to add both via Aston and Soho. At which point Soho Depot could also be opened up. It wouldn’t then hurt to continue on to Wolverhampton though maybe Coventry as well would be a bit of a stretch. However in another thread, DTG Matt was touting for ideas for future network style routes and here is one already part made, crying out to be extended.
Was my 'hood back in the day. I'd love to see Wolves to Coventry. Perfect with 390/350s. You could even drive the 350 Walsall as far as Aston, and get it as AI through that junction on BCC.
I would like to see the 350 and 390 added to BCC but I imagine it isn't a five minute job. It might end up being a passion project unless DTG think it is worth spending time on it.
It's probably already been abandoned. Along with Glossop. Get the assets for the route (The 323 and Piccadilly/New Street) so it'll be easier for future routes, and then just let them languish, forgotten
Mk to bns would be a ideal route to add to this especially with the new route hopping feature drive from Euston to mk hop to the new route drive to bns hop to bcc drive to Redditch Bromsgrove or trent vally hop on to wcml and back to Euston obviously switching at mk be a great round trip to make
