There is a lot going on at the moment, and all very exciting. I noticed however, that there was no mention of the class 104 or indeed the developer in the recent roadmap. I hope this isn't a sign that is has been abandoned and that it was just overlooked. For it not to be mentioned at all seemed a little strange. EDIT: seems I missed it being mentioned so obviously wasn't paying enough attention!
Matt mentioned it in the Roadmap stream (sorry I can’t link as that was a long stream & time got lost for me). It’s still in development, just taking longer than they expected.
Someone from Simtrack, Lucas I believe, also said on here a month or so ago that it were still coming along, just taking more time than thought. Something along those lines anyway. Much rather that time were taken to get it right rather than it being rushed and wrong.
Wow I totally forgot about the Class 104 until now. I remember the WIP screenshot they showed a while ago. Glad to hear it’s still in the works.
Same here. Really hoping we see this in the next 3-4 months. Peak Forest, amongst others, really needs it.
The best things come to those who wait... unless Rivet Games is making it. Looking forward to another first-generation DMU.
When matt asked if we was hyped, what I should have said was I've been hyped since the 104 was mentioned. It's gonna be worth the wait 100%
Yes looking forward to this for 2 reasons, because it's a vintage unit in a new livery, and because it'll make PF busier.
I believe the dev who came on here said it would come with an updated timetable that would be "much busier" so it'll be more than the 104... MAYBE some early diesel action like the Class 45 (I think?) It's still a WIP so we'll see.
Unless something's changed in the past few months I don't anything's been said about additional locomotives besides the 104. The 45 could be adapted to a BR Green version with pretty minimal effort from the chatter I've seen, but that's merely a possibility. The big thing besides the 104 being confirmed is that there's one or two new freight cars coming alongside it. But I think that's more so to give more things to do with the existing steamers I believe than any hint towards diesel traction. Would love to see it mind you, but I ain't expecting it, because frankly even with just the 104 and freight cars those alone will probably do enough to make it one of the higher value loco DLCs.
Were the Class 45s originally fitted with vacuum brakes? I'd imagine that would require some rework of the simugraph physics if so.
The developer’s been clear - there is no other new traction included. It’s just the 104, plus a couple of wagons, and timetable improvements. It’s still sounds like a great pack to me.
Simply the 104 and having decent AI traffic would be a huge start yes. Plus the potential for 104 layers.
I hope it has new sounds recorded from one of Kevin Dowd's 104s, they sound way better than the class 101s despite having the same Leyland O680s fitted as most 101s in their preserved state. I am not sure if he has done anything with the exhausts or if they were like that with BR, I have heard different things from different people. Is the DB BR420 still on the roadmap? I like the one in TSC so I was looking forward to that.
I'm not sure if it's on the road map, but I think I saw it is now being made for the new Frankfurt route, not 100% sure though.
The route it comes with doesn't interest me, but if there was a separate DLC BR Blue version, I would be very interested as I could use that on Blackpool Branches and NTP.
