Information Security Systems AWS, TPWS, ATO, ETCS Services Cambridge to Brighton Peterborough to Horsham (via Redhill) Bedford to Brighton Bedford to Gatwick Airport (via Redhill) Layers Southeastern High Speed (SEHS) Pictures Conclusion Hello everyone, As you may know TSW2 now has the Brighton Main Line in the game, however it only comes with Electrostars. So today I propose the Class 700 from Thameslink. Information The Class 700 is an EMU built between 2014 and 2018 for use on the Thameslink Network as part of the Thameslink Programme. The Class 700 is Manufactured by Siemens Mobility and built in Krefeld, Germany in order to replace the Class 319, Class 365 (Great Northern), Class 377 (Thameslink) and Class 387 (Thameslink). Today these Trains run through the entirety of Thameslink. These Trains come in 8 Car Units (700/0) and 12 Car Units (700/1), but on the BML there will be the 12 Car Units (700/1). Security Systems The Class 700's are equipped with AWS, TPWS, ATO and ETCS. Services There are 4 Services that link onto the Brighton Main Line Italic = Not on the BML Cambridge to Brighton via Royston, Ashwell and Morden (1tph), Baldock, Letchworth Garden City, Hitchin, Stevenage, Finsbury Park, London St Pancras International, Farringdon, City Thameslink, London Blackfriars, London Bridge, East Croydon, Gatwick Airport, Three Bridges, Balcombe, Haywards Heath, Wivelsfield, Burgess Hill (2tph) Peterborough to Horsham via Redhill via Huntingdon, St Neots, Sandy, Biggleswade, Arlesey, Hitchin, Stevenage, Finsbury Park, London St Pancras International, Farringdon, City Thameslink, London Blackfriars, London Bridge, East Croydon, Coulsdon South, Merstham, Redhill, Horley, Gatwick Airport, Three Bridges, Crawley, Ifield, Faygate, Littlehaven (2tph) Bedford to Brighton via Flitwick, Harlington, Leagrave, Luton, Luton Airport Parkway, Harpenden, St Albans City, West Hampstead Thameslink, London St Pancras International, Farringdon, City Thameslink, London Blackfriars, London Bridge, East Croydon, Gatwick Airport, Three Bridges, Haywards Heath, Burgess Hill, Hassocks, Preston Park (2tph) Bedford to Gatwick Airport via Redhill via Flitwick, Harlington, Leagrave, Luton, Luton Airport Parkway, Harpenden, St Albans City, London St Pancras International, Farringdon, City Thameslink, London Blackfriars, London Bridge, Norwood Junction, East Croydon, Purley, Redhill, Earlswood, Salfords, Horley (2tph) Layers This train can Layer onto the SEHS as the Thameslink Service to Luton between Rainham and Gravesend as the 8 Car Unit Variant of the 700. Pictures A Class 700056 at West Hampstead Class 700155 at Brighton in its LGBT+ Livery A Class 700 and a Class 313 near Brighton Class 700110 being hauled to the UK before in Service at Mönchengladbach Hbf Class 700142 at a Siding at Eastbourne with a Class 171723 Conclusion I hope this Train will be in the BML as it would give more variety on it instead of just Electrostars driving around. And i also want to give credit to jakeridout01 as he made a Class 700 Suggestion around the time SEHS released and I think his suggestion is also great, so please check him out.
Possible DLCs for Brighton Main Line- -Southern Class 455/8 (with extra suburban services) -Southern Class 377/6 -Gatwick Express Class 442 (sub for the Class 387/2) -Thameslink Class 319 -Thameslink Class 377/5 & Class 387/1 (Something like a Thameslink Pack) -Thameslink Class 700 (both 8 and 12 car versions) -Southern Class 421 -Network SouthEast Class 421, 423 & 455 (Retro Gameplay Pack like the GWE Diesel Legends thing)
Dtg have said in the past that they want to have the 700 in tsw but they haven't managed to get a licencing agreement with Thameslink yet, hopefully they can get it otherwise I'd say the most likely dlc for bml would be the 455/8
Even as a DLC we would need London Bridge for the class 700 since Thameslink services don’t terminate anywhere else when going towards London Bridge
Well in real life, only the 12 Car Units of the Class 700 operate on the BML. And all these DLC's..isnt it asking a little..too much?
In reality only some of what you are suggesting runs from London - Brighton. Class 455 dosent run from London - Brighton. Same goes with the Class 377/6, 377/5(Thameslink dosent use 377’s anymore).
They didn't say Thameslink... The 700s are a strange case because they are owned by a shell company of the manufacturer, but given there isn't a 700 in ANY simulator leads me to believe that the licensing isn't as simple as "contact Govia"
Actually in the stream that I watched they did say that have been trying to get the Thameslink license since tsw2020 but they haven't said either yes or no yet, and i am well aware that it isn't as simple as 'Contact Govia'
The Class 419 never really ran on the BML, it was more synonymous with the Chatham Main Line/South Eastern Main Line operating boat trains down to Dover and Folkestone with a pair of Class 411s. Of course not all of these will be made, just suggestions for possible content... The 8 car would be useful for SEHS that's why I mentioned it. It depends on how accurate and true to life the route will be. Having it strictly as a 2021 route would be quite dull and having a few units that ran on the route a few years prior wouldn't look too out of place and would add a lot more variety. Class 455 runs the Victoria to Croydon/Purley stopping services so is used on the route. Similarly the Class 377/6 runs stopping services and does run down to Brighton and the coast regularly too.
Thank you for telling me about it and can class 411 appear here as a DLC train as Legends of the Brighton main line with 2EPB 415 & 416 or rail tour with a class 700 Brighton Gatwick Airport London's King's Cross Cambridge/Bedford service DLC train overtaking the Class 411 at some point.
Class 411 was also more associated with Southeastern routes like the Chatham Main Line, so would be more suitable for SEHS than BML. Likewise the Class 415/416 was more used on Southeastern area routes to Kent until replaced by the Class 465/466 in the mid nineties. The Class 421 and 423 would be most suitable for the Brighton Main Line, which is why I've said before the Class 421 in Southern livery would be an ideal add-on for BML alongside the Class 377 in an early 2000's themed timetable. The only issue being the era of the route as some parts of the route have changed in the last two decades (such as platform extensions on the slow lines to Victoria and the new platform at Gatwick Airport) but could just be semi-realistic like GWE diesel legends. TBH I rather see a Class 455 and 700 for add-ons to keep it simple and accurate. Maybe an electrostar pack adding more subclasses also.
Thank you for telling me about this since I based mine on sister game train simulator 21 third rail southern United Kingdom DLC Locomotives. How about bringing class 460 & 73 locomotives as DLC here. The bonus for Class 73 is that it can operate on diesel power for NTP Manchester Victoria to Leeds City Via Standege Tunnel and Huddersfield WSR NTP & Penzance route if made DLC for a classic train simulator 21 route that is going to be in train simulator world 2 rush hour the Brighton main line
then how did they get Southern licence as Southern Gatwick Express Thameslink and Great Northern are all under one franchise so it is possible to get GN and Thameslink licencing
You presume Thameslink own the license for the trains... they don't own the trains themselves even if they do own part of the company that does
Well, the 700 isn't the prettiest train to look at, but at least it has a much bigger front window than the electrostars, so I'd be able to enjoy the route scenery more.
I'd love to see the calss 700 on the BML! Plus with it finally coming to TS2022, its not that far fetched that we can't get it for TSW 2. It would also utilise some stations that have no services stopping at them currently
The livery is a DfT creation, and was chosen before it was known who'd be operating Thameslink. Repaints started under First Capital Connect.
OK, what's that got to do with the outline of the train itself? A livery is a paint job, a logo is a logo and the train shape is something else (all often have their own IPs)
This is great! But the only problem is that the 700 I think would be a train DLC. Compared to previous games, TS is the main copy of TSW2, that's how they get these routes because it'll be more easier.
