'The Great Bear' No.111 Built in 1908 'The Great Bear' was a failed attempt by the GWR to build a 'Pacific' locomotive. Despite being a very ineffective loco it was kept on by GWR as a publicity figure. However the building of No. 4073 'Caerphilly Castle' which was a stronger loco made 'The Great Bear' an embarssment to the GWR. Eventually it was rebuilt as a Castle. In this hypothetical world 'The Great Bear' was never rebuilt and survived into preservation. 'The Great Bear's' official image
Ok, firstly - Why? plus we don't have a route for this to run on so you would need to wait for a GWR route to come out that is set in the timeframe that 111 was in service which might be a while as the last two steam routes have been set in 1958 & 1963 respectfully and 111 never ran under BR in her original 4-6-2 condition.
It was one of the earliest examples of Pacifics, I'd like to have an early 1900s loco and as the front end is very similar to the Star it would make loco modelling for the Star easier if an early 1900s GWR route was to come out.
