This is a route I’d love to see in TSW 3. Known for its stunning scenery through the Pennines, TSW 3’s new weather effects and visuals would complement this route beautifully.

    The route:
The line runs from Sheffield to Manchester Piccadilly, with the express services going via Stockport and the Northern stopper services going via Reddish North & Romiley. Along the route, there are stunning views of the Pennines, as well as a couple of several-mile long tunnels to travel through, The line is naturally very hilly and up and down, so you’re never just on continuous flat land.

Closer to Manchester, the line via Reddish North offers a transition from the views of the Pennines, to making your way through Suburban Manchester, so there’s always something different to see.

There are also quarries and freight sidings along the route, located around Hope, as well as Earles Sidings.

I know I'm biassed because this is my local route but I really think it would be a great addition to TSW.

It's really varied in terms of route and destination so would provide a great variety of gameplay. There is also a lot of different service patterns.

The Manchester end would be similar to CC in terms of service length and having a commenter feel, with the route past New Mills being very picturesque and rural, perhaps felling like WCL, without the sea (especially if you include the Class 150).

Personally I'd go a bit earlier though so you can include the 101 as well!

It would be a phase of the cut livery and ftpe livery for the 185/1.

You're probably right to be fair.

I'm just blinded by childhood memories visiting my Grandparents in Sheffield. There's always senario planner I guess.

All right, all right, I take it back! :o

I just thought DGT might be more likely to make the route if they could recycle a loco!

It wouldn't feel right to be fair as they've not animated the blinds between the passenger compartment and the cab. In the 90's these were almost always down so you couldn't see the view of the track. It was a rare and exciting journey when a driver allowed you to watch them work!

This is a route which wouldn't be too bad in more modern times, but not too modern. First gen Sprinters and Pacers (properly modelled) and maybe introduce a Class 56 or Class 60 to the freight roster too/ Plus plenty of opportunity to layer in the classic diesels, too.

Added a bit more info to the route description and its features.

With the 150, I’d also like a total overhaul of both the sounds and physics, as Rivet have completely bodged it up. Several inaccuracies with the current offering by Rivet, which only makes it good for an AI train at best.

Awesome idea! Tunstead and Peak Forest quarries would be a great addition to this too.

Bring it on and you can have a Class 56 grid here as freight. Has two versions 001-030 Communist Romania 031 and up BREL York.

Absolutely. The Don Coffey cab ride across that route is worth several repeat viewings. I was also considerably gutted to find the SimSig signalling simulation for the area, despite still having the demo on their site, had been withdrawn from sale due to internal ructions (apparently).

I don't agree, BR trains captures something the modern era does not. I'm biased so maybe not the best to say. But they could do pre BR, the route suggested above I would buy mainly because it is different.

Your map shows the route from Gorton to Woodley via Hyde. Is this part in the new JTs Train Simulator route?

I'm not sure whether the line via Guide Bridge is modelled in JT's Hope Valley route.

That’s a shame londonmidland. To produce such a wonderful route and leave out a small extension. I can see it being added along the line for £8.99. Like Oxford to Bicester and the Paignton extensions for WML. I’d happily pay that for it.
