Here I will be suggesting and talking about the importance of the Rush hour: Journeys and Expansions pack I will be going over 1. The trains and information 2. Routes(on some of them) 3. Reasons 4. The end So let’s start 1. Trains A.) the Acela Express (Boston-Providence) Here I will talk about the Acela express and in my opinion this should be In the rush hour pack under the RH: Boston to Providence section because it really is an amazing train with a beautiful look at top speed This train was built between 1998-2001 with 20 trainsets in total being built. It has a max speed of 165mph (266km/h) but an In service speed of 150mph (240km/h) and serves only on the NEC (Northeast Corridor) which is where Boston - Providence is situated, and if we still had NECNY (Northeast Corridor New York) it would also be a layer but obviously since it’s not available in Tsw2 It definitely not available in Tsw3. Safety systems used are ACSES, and it is formed of 2 power cars, 4 Business car, 1 Cab car and 1 First car. Here is a picture of the beautiful cab car I think it’s a great interior and would be fantastic in the Tsw3 graphics (don’t use the ts20xx cab) B.) Class 700 (Brighton mainline) This is the class 700 and its part of the “Desiro city” group alongside other notable trains like the class 185, 450 and 444. now this is a must have since it could also layer onto Southeastern highspeed and not only Brighton Mainline which makes it even more useful. It was built between 2014 and 2018 by Siemens mobility for the Thameslink programme to enter service in 2016 and is built in 12 and 8 car units by 700/0 being 8 car and 700/1 being 12 cars. It has a max speed of 100mph (161km/h) and uses 25kV 50HZ AC overhead lining and 750 V DC 3rd rail it uses a Pantograph (AC) and a contact shoe (DC) just like the 395 javelin and 377/5 electrostar. Safety systems are AWS, TPWS, ATO and ETCS(please add this). Here is the cab C.) The ICE T (Dresden - Riesa) The ICE T (br411/415) also known as the famous Tilting train (hence the “T” in the name) is another train to the ICE fleet but it’s actually the slowest at 230km/h (145mph) This train is very similar to the ICE 3 (br403) but you can easily differentiate the two by the very blunt front on the ICE T. I’m not going to say It’s a bad train or anything but I will be honest and say I’m not a fan of the Look of the train specifically the nose. The br411 is formed of 7 cars and the the br415 is formed of 5, I think it would be better to get only one with that being the br411 version. The train was built in 1994 by Siemens and Alstom for use on conventional lines at a higher speed due to tilting. This train is also in operation on ÖBB for services from Vienna (Wien) to München, Frankfurt and Nüremberg. Safety Systems are PZB, LZB, Sifa and Eurobalise. Here’s the cab 2. Routes A.) Acela express This train would be used on Boston - Providence for services from Boston - New York Penn, Boston - Philadelphia and Boston - Washington DC and could be doing the services the ACS-64 can’t- Fast services straight to providence non stop without stopping. And if we were to get a new route for this train which is not preferred (in my opinion) would be a revamped NECNY but from New york Penn - Philadelphia 30th street. B.) The class 700 “Desiro city” This train would provide services from Brighton upwards such as Brighton - Bedford, Cambridge and Peterborough but not only could it do BML services it could also layer onto Southeastern highspeed on Bedford, Cambridge and Peterborough - Rainham services from Dartford - Rainham only stopping at Gravesend, Strood, Rochester, Chatham, Gillingham and Rainham. If we were not to get it in a rush hour pack I think it should get a route from Bedford - St. Pancras or London Bridge. C.) ICE-T This train would operate services from Dresden - Riesa and onwards to Leipzig instead of the overused ICE 3m (this is a train sim 20xx already) and would also layer onto Haupstrecke Munich - Augsburg for services from Vienna - Munich as ai only and more, Schellfahrstrecke koln - Aachen as ai only from Frankfurt - Cologne services, SKW on Vienna to Frankfurt services as ai only at Würzburg and Haupstrecke Hamburg - Lübeck for Hamburg - København (Copenhagen) Services that aren’t til this day but when it was it was operated by the ICE -TD which is a four car diesel variant of the ICE T for services to smaller cities and on the services that go on the ships to Copenhagen. This would be more realistic than the Ice 3m as the are the very same train but just one is Diesel and ones Electric. And if this wasn’t added we could have it on a route from Riesa - Leipzig, a route linking MSB and SKW on the famous Curve so the train can reach its max tilting speed or a Passau to Regensburg service. 3. reasons. I’m not going to say that it’s more important than the J&E pack for tsw3 as more people have the core tsw3 routes over the the BML pack. Like me I don’t have the Boston - Providence route just because I’m not too into American routes and trains and the design. But getting something like the Acela express would definitely push me and others to Purchase it just because even as a European from Ireland the Acela express is a great looking train with a great top speed. Also for Dresden to Riesa this could be a start to ending the annoying constant overused layer of the ICE 3M on nearly every route in german especially a route it never runs on such as: Hamburg - Lübeck, Dresden - Riesa and another one if I’m missing it. And it would make use of the Empty slot of Brighton to East croydon that is built for Thameslink and on Southeastern highspeed on Dartford - Rainham instead of only using the 465 on the route (not saying there is anything wrong. 4. Ending I guess this is the end of this suggestion. Just to not it took me 2 hours to do but tell me what you think and do you think these are the three. Appropriate trains for this route
Excellent idea but the problem for ICE-T on Riesa-Dresden is that you can't tilt properly and here's the quote about it Another thing that needs to be done it that Class 700 needs the Armstrong powerhouse sounds because the way that DTG made Class 700 was 444 DC 395 AC sounds for TSC. Using AP Class 700 sounds avoids Train simulator world community doesn't complain about Class 700 sounds Being incorrect. Another way to do this is HSP-46 Avelia Liberty NEC Boston Providence Riesa-Dresden DB BR146.0 ICE-T BML Class 700 & 455
The 700 is something which would fit in nicely with what we've got but it would be nice to see it with a MML or even better ECML route.
Thameslink services on the NKL routes are "all stoppers" past Dartford, so they ALL stop at Dartford, Stone Crossing, Greenhithe, Swanscombe, Northfleet, Gravesend, Higham, Strood, Rochester, Chatham, Gillingham and Rainham. Only the 395 services miss out Higham in service Some of the 465 and 376 Metro services between Dartford and Gravesend skip all the local stations other than Greenhithe (there's a large shopping centre nearby)
I wonder if they’ll extend the northeast corridor route from providence to Stamford Connecticut then they can include Connecticut shoreline east to the rush hour package.
