What is the longest train you ever build in TSW? It tried this a long time ago in heavy haul, i captured some AI trains in the Cumberland Yard and build a train with around 110 wagons.

You really noticed above 80+ wagons that simugraph had to do a lot of calculations and the fps went down to around 20fps instead of 50fps.

Some days ago Matt said on discord before the next US-freight DLC they want to optimise simugraph more so it can handle trains with 100+ wagons.

I was wondering and curious how the simugraph performance has changed since heavy haul. So i startet the New York Switcher scenario and collected ALL freight wagons from every yard and stored them first in the Oak Point Yard.
Then i coupled all wagons together with 6x2 loco pairs in between to provide balanced power and good air supply for the brakes. If you try to pull all wagons at one end with all locos you will derail on the curves in the switches.

    So how is the performance?
Until around 140 wagons in dont have any drops in fps (stable 60fps), after that the fps decrease rapidly.... with more then 180 wagons the fps drops to 40fps and with 200 wagons till 22fps and with all 216 wagons i get around 13-16fps. That fps are while moving the train, standing still i have around 34fps.
That is with 4K resolution, everything on ultra settings and objectviewdistance of 32.

Yes simugraph needs some more optimsation for long trains, but till around 140 wagons TSW is now playable without any perfomance drops for me.

You are wondering how long it took to collect all wagons and couple them together? 7 hours ;)

    Here are the screenshots:

All wagons in the Oak Point Yard (216 if i did count right):

This is how a yard should look like:

I backed up the train to the Fresh Pond Yard, if you want to try this train yourself you can download the save file here:

    https://drive.google.com/file/d/12TaHAsVcOH_rlZzQR4c0Tdwmx_19GRKD/view

    The file is named "TSWSaveGame_Nighthawk.sav"

To use it, download it and replace "Nighthawk" with your TSW profile name, after that save the file on C:\Users\Username\Documents\My Games\TS2Prototype\Saved\SaveGames

Then start your TSW and click in the menue on "last played" :)

Reminder: This will replace your last saved TSW drive, so back it up before doing this :)
