The Day Before, a huge scam by a shady russian developer, was the most wishlisted game on Steam ever. Crazy story, money made on pure promises, fake roadmaps and some lazy asset flipping. People who called them out were labelled "toxic haters". A few weeks after release now, the last server was shut down. Thanks to Valve, players got refunded. Be vigilant. German video
This is why I am very wary about buying into early access. That Siberian train/adventure game which has been in development forever and now has its Prologue is also one I would be careful about (not that it’s very good) once they start asking for money. Also that Japanese Hakodate tram sim which is selling for early access with development promised over a period of years and at this stage looks like something from 1992 Amiga era. Tread carefully out there folks.
You are a bit late to the party with this news.... It's all Palworld, Palworld, Palworld right now. Everybody i know on Steam is going mental about that "Pokemon with guns" stuff.
And then Ubisoft went "All-In" with the mediocre "Skull and Bones" - Sid Meier's Pirates (1987) is more fun than that and was a resident in my Amiga 500 floppy drive back in the days - still playing it on WinUAE from time to time. This just doesn't get old. If that game is "Quadruple-A" then what is Read Dead Redemption 2 please? Hmm...
Pirates is excellent, timeless classic. Honestly Ubisoft needed to cut their losses and stop throwing good money after bad on this project a decade ago. A masterclass in the sunk cost fallacy. Meanwhile Sea of Thieves is laughing all the way to the bank in about to have a whole bunch more PS5 players join the servers soon.
Oh I remember fighting the storms when sailing southwest - often needing to head back to the nearest port again and get rid of the slowest ship ... and finally managing to conquer Cartagena... such a well balanced game which shows what's above all the graphics - gameplay. And Sid Meier is a legend in gameplay design.
