The Piccadilly Line is getting New Tube Trains! Built by Siemens, they'll be in passenger service in 2025. A total of 94 trains are on order, with half of them being made at a new Siemens factory at Goole in Yorkshire.

Very nice and sleek. Windows are small but I guess that's the trade off for having air-conditioning

Exterior designs looks good, modern train but doesn’t lose the Underground look, interior is a bit less great, seems a quite cramped, windows could do with being a bit bigger.

I still cannot fathom how they are 9-car trains!

The existing 1973 stock trains on the Piccadilly Line are only 6 cars long.

The coaches have to be shorter, but they don't seem to be that much shorter.

I like the long-short-long-short-long-short-long-short-long coach design, with only long coaches having bogies (I still don't know how the physics behind that works, but it is great!)

Since it is wider, they have had to make changes to some of the platforms on the Piccadilly Line. I wonder when and where these changes will occur/have occurred.

I like the new 2024 stock!

Hopefully DTG if they haven’t already get the chance to obtain the 1973 sounds, I think that would be their likely candidate for the Piccadilly line, as they did mention they considered that route when picking Bakerloo, so seems a possibility for the next London Underground line if one shall come.

It looks unique being 9 cars long with a mixture of long and short cars. A nice modern take of an underground tube train.

Yep shorter cars without bogies, like most of the tramways. If TFL find sufficient funds they’ll put an option to replace the Bakerloo, W&C and Central Lines. Thank god the final design is far different than the first mock up they showed, which was a monstrosity.
