The line between Peterborough and Lincoln, otherwise known as the Redwing Line, runs for 57 miles between Peterborough and Lincoln, with intermediate stations at Spalding, Sleaford, Ruskington & Metheringham. The line has passenger services operated by East Midlands Railway in addition to freight traffic by Freightliner, DB Schenker and GBRf, with GBRf being the most predominant one (roughly 15-20 services every weekday). Proposed Rolling Stock Class 156/9 in East Midlands Railway Livery Operates services alongside the Class 170. 8 of EMR's fleet are fitted with this livery, these units being 156405, 406, 907, 909, 916, 917, 918 and 919. Class 170 in East Midlands Railway livery Operates services from Peterborough to Doncaster as well as the Grimsby Town - Leicester route. Formed of both 2 and 3 car sets. Class 66 in GBRf + Freightliner + DB Schenker Livery with FEA (GB+FL), FKA (DB), IIA (GB) and JNA Wagons (DB)
Someone suggested this not too long ago but I will still give you my thoughts. It is a very nice route not too many miles away from where I live so I can 100% tell you I think it's a beautiful area and would be brilliant to have in TSW. Also both Peterborough and Lincoln are rather significant places in the area.
i'd 100% love to see a route involving lincoln come to tsw2. i suggested sheffield to lincoln a while back, but lincoln to peterborough would be great too, and with this one there's great opportunity for passenger and freight. so yeah lincoln to peterborough would be a very welcome addition for me!
Excellent idea in real life one can actually find 156 coupled to a 170 due to the BSI Couplers. Speaking of Class 66 what version is it? DLC freight Class 60 or 56
