North American tank cars are equipped with shelf couplers. In TSW 2, they have the normal Type E coupler, which not every piece of rolling stock uses. Every tank car is required by law to use these shelf couplers. They prevent cars from tipping over when derailed.

This is what the tank car’s coupler should look like upload_2021-1-26_10-48-22.jpeg

There are other cars also with the wrong coupler, like the hopper car, but I will do another post on that. (I understand that rendering a whole new coupler can be hard, but it will help with the immersion).

Welp that's another thing dtg got wrong which is not suprising. Hopefully they will add the correct couplers in the game

Yeah. They got every thing else right about the tank car, just not the couplers.

I've been spg recently and the modeling of the tank cars and wagons (apart from the couplers) is something that they nailed. I'm not into freight personally but props to dtg for that

Actually currently unloading a LPG tank car at work today, here's a look at its shelf couplers on it.

    EDIT: Resized the photos.

While a small change, it would be nice to get the correct couplers on them.

I mean oil trains are the redheaded step child of Sand Patch Grade anyway, lol.
