What's up with all the thunder in the presentation of TSW3? I don't mean in the gameplay but in loading screens, promotional stuff and so on. I really don't get that. Sure dynamic weather is in the game and there is thunder now but to pitch that as "this is TSW3" really boggles my mind. It's a train game so you would expect something train related would push the promo for TSW3. I don't see any correlation with trains and thunder. To me it just shows the lack of actual new train related features that thunder has become the gimmick to promote TSW3
Tsw3 is more about extreme weather conditions and whatever effects there are. Thunderstorms were never a thing in tsw, snow has had big improvements and other stuff.
Now while I understand that, if ur making a game with a new feature does not mean that's all u should promote. If dovetail wants to promote thunder make Thunder Sim World.
If TSW3 was about extreme weather shouldn't they have chosen routes with extreme weather like Siberia or Alaska? That said extreme weather was already in the game. Okay now we have thunder but making such a fuzz about it just shows how little improvements were made to the rest of the game. We are talking about TSW3 not about a TSW2 update like Rush Hour. If this was still TSW2 I could understand the decision.
I have a suspicion that I´d love to be proven wrong. But this whole TSW3 catharsis doesn´t add up for me, not forwards, nor backwards. Right now I think it doesn´t pass to be a big, fat, smoky smoke screen for whatever part of the story that isn´t told to us. But let´s see after launch, and again: I´d love to be wrong here.
Speaking of thunder, did anyone actually hear any thunder in the live stream? I saw lightning but no loud cracks of thunder that stood out and no sounds of distant thunder either. I may not have been paying full attention at that point though.
It's all just marketing to make up for the fact that there are hardly any new features in this game. Quite common practice in the video game industry especially in sports games
