Hello, I have a question and at the same time I doubt the Train Sim World 4 editor is going to be compatible with the Microsoft Store version on PC or do I have to buy the Steam version to be able to take advantage of it and be able to use the editor once it comes out??? ? I hope someone can answer my question, regards.
That's one good question. Remember the Microsoft Store Version for PC is the same one for the Xbox version. Which means Microsoft has to lock that out to maintain commonality with the Xbox One Series X/S versions
Matt's answered this previously. Currently the editor will NOT work with the MS Store version. Due to the way MS Store installs its files, the editor is currently unable to find the files it needs from it. He said they are still trying to find out a workaround, but as of now the editor will only work with Steam and Epic TSW4 versions.
That's not true. MS Store and Xbox versions of games are not the same. If they were, MS store versions wouldn't have a key rebinding, or graphics menu. Which they do.
Get it now but your progress is carried over from Xbox to MS Store version. I did this with Wunderline Bremen Oldenburg Groningen
I want this to work (after all, it works from Epic or Steam), the issue is if the editor will be able to reach into the Windows Store install and read the game's pak files (windows security and sandboxing has some views on this). There are a few avenues left to explore and test out before it's settled (at least one of which might require running the editor as Admin!). No promises whatsoever, but there is a (valid, on Microsoft's part) technical reason
