One way to do it could be to theme them, and here are a few ideas following the same rules as the current EP (up to three routes, three repainted trains, allowance for mismatched interiors) 1. Modern Southern Region EP For East Coastway, SEHS and London Commuter, with Thameslink 387, SE White 375 and the retro Blue/Grey 313 that Southern have 2. Regional Railways EP For Trans-pennine, Tees Valley and West Cornwall, with Regional railways 101, 31 and Mk2s and 37 3. Network Southeast EP For GW Express, Bakerloo and SEHS, with NSE 166, 465 and 313 4. Great Western EP for GWE and West Cornwall, with the various special liveried 43s at the end of their life with GWR, and a GWR 150 5. Strathclyde EP with the 314 in Carmine & Cream and SPT Orange and SPT Orange 101 6. ICE3 EP for Koln - Aachen, Munich - Augsburg, and HRR (potentially layering into others), with the 403 in the Euro livery, in red with NS logo, and the 406 in regular red 7. Eastern Germany EP for Rapid Transit, Tharandter Rampe and Riesa Dresden with IC liveried 612, 143 in DR Weinrot, and Abellio 442 8. NRW EP for HRR, Hagen - Wuppertal and RSN with VRR Green 422, IC2 liveried 145 and Dostos

Yes, for a while the Nurnberg - Dresden IRE was classified as an IC, with a few of the units painted into white with the red stripe.

Existing Doppelstockwagen Green paint DR DDR Doppelstockwagen DR BR243 & V100 204 while Intercity coaches get Orange and Beige paint used for 155 143 232 204 DR BR250 DR BR132 V100 & 243
