that's 3rd rail for the S-Bahn trains of Hamburg. doesn't mean there will be an expansion with S-Bahn trains

Stuff like that can't be considered a hint.

It seems the track laying team always lays more track than required (that's the least time consuming part of route building), and at some point later in development, the decision is made what parts of the route will be used in the game based on what the Controlling / Financial dept / ExecProducer says, so the target release price can be matched.

Use trainsim.cz's OutOfBounds and InvisibleWall removers to explore the routes, you'll be surprised how much extra track is present in some routes.

WonterRail has written excellent guides on the matter.

That's true, but also these tracks are immediately next to the Hamburg-Lübeck main line that you drive on. It's just scenery.

Go back to GWE and the Metropolitan-Hammersmith and City/now part of Circle Line was exquisitely laid from Paddinton to Westbourne Park, but destined never to be an operational section of railway in TSW. Likewise the secion of WCML parallel to the Bakerloo/Watford DC Line. Cosmetic only.

Also NTP, which is an old route by now, has a short section of third rail for Bury line.

Of course, BPO is full of those small details everywhere, so sure JT didn't forget the 3rd rail at Omskirk ;)

It would be nice for an AI S-Bahn model to drive on those, nothing you can interact with but it would make it feel more alive.

However, this route is quite old so I do not see this as a likely update anytime soon...

  10. Aerosoft have tried to do a Train Sim World style (ie Unreal 5) Hamburg route. It has some good reviews. But it is Unreal 5. It has noted performance issues but doens't every game?

Aerosoft built routes using the TSC engine previously. Unsure if they have parted ways.

Hope they come back to the TSW platform.

I was a fan of the Hamburg S-bahn on TSC but as I keep saying I won't use TSC anymore. After using TSW some routes like Tehachapi Pass are awful. I'm serious. On a side note I hope we don't see another mountain route (apart from Donner Pass which I have predicted for next month or it will be Marias) for US freight for a while. I'd much prefer a flat freight route single line like IC&E in Illinois, Chicago to Byron.

I saw the third rail in the Hamburg Lubeck route in TSW one or two stations out from the Main HBF Hamburg and knew it was the S-Bahn.

I remember in TSC they have some scenarios going to/from the airport. It was indeed Aerosoft that did the S-Bahn in Train Sim Classic.

Some of the reviews also seem to paint it in a rather poor light.

    No save game either.

Not sure if HR Innoways is a reincarnation of TML Studios who did the earlier World Of Subways. They were nearly all flawed in some way, mainly the physics and trying to configure keyboard commands was a nightmare. IIRC the London Circle Line version had trains rolling backward uphill and last time I tried to play it the save game wouldn't co-operate. A note to Aerosoft support basically elicited a rather large raspberry - old game, go away... Shame as the C69 stock was actually quite well done with decent sounds.
