I just stumbled upon this news article on Twitter which suggests the Series S could be getting some memory improvements. https://www.theverge.com/2022/8/4/2...es-s-more-memory-game-development-performance The series S has always been a problem for memory, and that’s very clear in TSW2. This could help the game massively.
Ars Technica just posted a pretty detailed write-up on this. https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2022...prise-boost-for-memory-strapped-299-series-s/
They already made the new systems' Operating Systems use only 2/3 as much memory as the last gen systems did, resulting in Series S being only 1GB short of the One X on total available memory to games, so however much extra they squeeze out here, it'll no doubt be handy. However, the 2GB of memory previously reserved for system usage does only operate at a quarter of the speed of the already available 8GB, so I'd expect only games specifically designed going forward to take advantage of this by offloading less important processes to that extra memory will benefit.
